A small place with no more extra sparkles. Parking space is there and then you have to walk like 50-100m. The area is peaceful and you get to see a big idol in the middle of the inside of the monastery. You can click pictures and you have to remove your shoes before entering.

This is one of the must visiting points in North Bengal tour. This bears the statue of Buddha in a pagoda type structure. This place is an attractive point to the tourists all times. I really recommend this place to visit. One can be much pleased when he visits this place. This place fills one's mind with profound tranquility. One can buy different types of garments and tea, coffee and snacks. This place is the residence of Lamas.

Ghoom Monastery is the popular name of Yiga Choeling. The monastery belongs to the Gelukpa or the Yellow Hat sect and is known for its 15 feet (4.6 m)-high statue of The external structure of the building was established in 1850

Ghoom Monastery is also a beautiful piece of architecture. Nice Buddha Idol is here. Atmosphere is very good, it's a very neat & clean, nice and peaceful place. You can find child lamas here. Souvenir shop, Tea & snacks Stall is there for purchase of memento, quick bites respectively. This place is very close to Ghum railway station. It is well connected with Darjeeling, Kalimpong, Siliguri and other places also.

One of the must go side scenes in Darjeeling. Not because it's a temple but because of the peace and serenity you will find yourself in. One similar temple can be found in Lava. It's located within 30 mins of Ghoom.
Note - not sure if there's a timing to enter but we went in the early morning so it was open.Please keep your shoes outside the temple.

Overall it's a nice Monastery, it's small but beautiful 😍, lamas are so kind and gentle , here's they provide food also for tourists and devotees,, I mean they sell food ,,, toys available for kids 😊, I think it's a nice combination .... U can pray , u can eat food , u can spend a lot of time ,,,, that's all.....

This is a must visit place for anyone enthused about an old monastery with rich cultural heritage. It's one of the prime monasteries in Darjeeling and is located at close proximity to the Ghum station. There are a couple of shops located within the monastery compound from where one can get woolen clothes and gift items, which are all run by the monks. It's located at an exotic place, where the heart will call upon for an another visit!

It is a small yet very peaceful and beautiful monastery in Darjeeling. If you are booking for three point sightseeing - this place along with tiger hill and batasia loop will be covered.

Many people do not come to this place - for them, may be this monaster is not worth seeing for them. But I loved it - the nature is beautiful here. A small store is there outside the monastery gate where you can get key rings, wall hangings, laughing buddha and many other things. Do not miss these.

Ghoom Monastery is a peaceful place with pretty surroundings and lovely architecture. It feels spiritual, especially with colorful prayer flags. Inside, there are old paintings and cool stuff about Tibetan Buddhism. If you like calm spots and mountain views, you should check it out.

The monastery is situated at a lower level than the road so one has to climb down stairs to reach the main building.

This is the New Ghoom monastery. The old one is situated 1 km away from it. The monastery is known for its statue of the Maitreya Buddha.

Ghoom Monastery is a beautiful peaceful place located in Darjeeling, Ghoom Town.
There is a huge Monastery, a museum with lot of ancient antique collections. A cafe, selling coffee, cakes, and handicrafts items.
Museum entry ticket is Rs. 20 per head.
This place gives a wide panoramic view of Ghoom Town. On a clear day the Kanchanjangha mountain is also visible from here.
This place very quiet and peaceful. It is a popular tourist attraction and must visit while touring Darjeeling.

For peace seeking person this is heaven. When we have reached there that was their prayer time, so their chanting will fill you so much you won't want to be moved.
There is also a museum to enrich you with their rich heritage.
Also you can refresh yourself with their fragrant coffee in their cafe.

A very beautiful monestary in a crowded place, though so much people avoid it as it doesn’t shows that much of delicacy like nowadays.
Here the buddha murti is so so beautiful, it is known as 'Maitreya Buddha' or 'Buddha of the future'.

If i must comment, i must talk about ourselves, the so called tourists. I feel, true appreciation of a place is how you behave and what you do in that place. It really saddens me to see people visiting that place and taking it to be a park... Running around, shouting, disrespecting the temple decorum..
If anyone reading this, please.. please.. have some respect..when you visit that temple.. maintain peace and silence... I promise you ..that place offers more in quiet than in your voice..trust me.
