It was a surprise last minute hike to get here. I got here when it was just about to turn dark. Breathtaking is all I would say about it. It is a steep hillside so, please be careful ,take an ample amount of rest as you traverse up and down this trail.

One of the best waterfalls in Kerala. The waterfall is wider and slippery. Although, there are some areas to swim in, the river is shallow, so diving is not possible. There is no guide as well as parking areas.

Awesome place. Such an awesome experience. If you are going on rainy season then you can experience the real beauty of punnayar waterfall. If you are going with your family then take care for your childrens. Because there is high flow of water and very dangerous to walk along there. After parking your vehicle you have to truck for little bit. If you go there by taking camera then you can take some good shots. 😍💕

The path to waterfalls is the best. You can go by car or bike till some distance and we have to Trek about 500m. Then, you can enjoy the mesmerizing beauty of waterfalls. You can take a dip also, if water force is not high. But be alert and be safe. Enjoy...

Very beautiful and peaceful place to visit in Mansoon season.. one of the hidden gem in Idukki . Little hike needed but not that hard . Swimmer or not please do not walk in the rocks it's very slippy and no life guard or no protection in the place, medic are far away , enter water fall at your risk.

Beautiful waterfall. Enough space to enjoy. Visited on August. We can spend lot of time in the water. From the parking area, we have to walk some distance.

Punnayar falls is a great destination for a one day trip. What makes it special is that a visit to the place offers some trekking and refreshing views.

There are 2 distinct locations to enjoy the falls. The nearest and easily accessible is the waterfall B, which is the smaller one. A visit after the rains would be the best, as in the case of any waterfalls.

If you return to the road and walk further ahead, you can enjoy a scenic view of the serene valley and then climb down towards the waterfall A. The path down to the falls can be challenging for children and elderly people.

Weekends can be crowded with people coming in to spend some time with friends and family. Yet if you can visit when it is less crowded, it can be a beautiful experience.

Small cars and two wheelers can be better, as there are some areas where the road is narrow. And if you are carrying any consumables for your trip,
Please don't litter the place with Plastic and Waste.

Enjoy the beauty and help preserve it🌍

Punnayar Falls is located near Kanjikuzhi in Idukki district.

There are 2 waterfalls there..Punnayar A & B.
If A is beautiful, then B is rude.

On the way to Punnayar A waterfall we can see a view point from there you get a beautiful view of Pambayar river.

One of the best waterfalls I have seen in this recent years. We can call it a mini athirapilly. The view is just awesome. Bt if it wasn't crowded we could have taken nice photos. Please don't go there to throw plastics. People are throwing a lot of plastics and food waste here. Please don't do that.

Be prepared for a short hike to reach the falls. Better leave your vehicles on the main road itself. There is no parking space once you take the concrete road.

There are two waterfalls punnayar A and punnayar B. Punnayar B is very close to the road and very easy to reach. Punnayar B is more safer and everybody can easily reach there and can take a bath if needed.
Punnayar A is little far form main road. If u wanna reach there you need to walk few kilometres. But the road is little dangerous for kids and aged people because slops are very deep and slippery. If you have an off-roading vehicle then you can almost reach the waterfall without walking.punnayar A is one of the most beautiful waterfall in that area. But in rainy season the way become more slippery so need to take extra care while walking.

It's beautiful... 🤩🤩🤩
It is a less explored waterfalls and hence its very very clean and the water is do clear.. Not too deep.
There are 2 waterfalls, A & B. We went to B. I think it's the bigger one. We have to walk almost 2km to reach the bottom of the waterfalls where er can actually go and stand right under it.
It's easily accessible and if we are really careful it's a very good waterfall to go.
The road that leads to this waterfalls is a bit tricky with lots of hair pin curves and steep hills. But it's really worth to go.
So happy with the place and hope that this one will stay as neat and clear as it is now.

Its awesome place with wonderful scenary we can reach there about 1km of walking only.this place is not suggested for children's and old peoples.walk carefully the way is full of rocks and deep slope with slippery. The place is not belongs govt (as i asked to the local people) so there place didnt provide any guides or safety. Some places near this waterfall is suitable for swimming (ask to the locals regarding the depth and dangerous areas)

This palce is majestic , far better than athirappally ( personal opinion ) , the location, views point as well as the near by tourist places make this a true holiday destination . But Saturdays and Sundays are too much crowded ( entire punchayat will be present ) . Avoid weekends .

There are 2 waterfalls. Punnayar A and Punnayar B.
One is very close to the road and the other requires trekking for a few kilometres.
The waterfall with beautiful scenic view is the one that requires trekking.

Rocks are heavily slippery. Be cautious
