Lockhart Tea Museum

Best tea estate I have seen till now . Less crowd and well maintained . Entry is just Rs.50 and I loved it . Best one in Munnar

They guided and showed the complete process of making tea and upclose which I haven't seen anywhere else. Explained and showed how different flavours and variety of tea can be made.

Loved the Lockhart tea factory visit. Beautiful gardens on the outside, and once we step in, it was a guided tour - we were allowed to visit each floor and see the process of tea making. It was a learning experience. Got to know how tea is made to how we are supposed to drink it for maximum benefit. Also enjoyed the tea tasting session at the end.

We were taken here by a tour guide, the entrance few was 250 per person (too expensive imo), and we had a 20/30 minute tour of the factory in a small group of 4. The factory at the time was operational and we were allowed to view and photograph all aspects of the process from dehydrating/ grinding/ drying/ and sorting (despite the signs that said no photography). The tour ended in the store (as all tours will in India), and we could taste 8 blends of tea. Cost of a bag was approx. 300.

Overall good experience, no wait time.

The first tea company made 8n munnar all machines are old but good describes by guide not prepared for aged person
