Lovely place to learn about tea harvesting and converting to the beverage we all
Like . When you see the process one won’t drink tea bag tea anymore as that is the lowest quality of tea . Amazing views around the museum and tea factory. Bought some whole leaf tea and blended tea with spices like cardamom

How this does not have more higher rating I don't no. This place is educational, shows you the history, there is a video showing theatre style, then a tour around the factory you can taste touch and smell the tea in different stages of production. Afterwards you can taste all the teas they sell before buying

The Kannan Devan tea plantation KDHP museum is situated at Nullatanni, Munnar. Its the India’s first tea musem. They charged Rs.125 ticket per head for adults. Once you collect the ticket, they film a short story of how the tea plantation begun in the early 1876 right from having a conversation with the Britishers, selecting the geographical location to plant and harvest, choosing the labour, how to transport using rails and export, the needs and uses of different varieties of tea etc
Then they take us to visit the exhibited products that was used centuries back, the history was explained by a guide. Then they guided us to the miniature tea factory set up, explaining the very minute details and process of tea making. This really attracted all the guests and foreigners to know the value and culture of India.
In this video you can find various steps involved in processing the tea like how its harvested, collected, withered, steamed, rolled, drying, grading, how its packed. They also have an sales outlet, you can purchase them. The Product is called Ripple and various Chai bazaar outlets exhibits tea products where you can see in and around Munnar if you like to purchase outside the museum. Don’t miss sneak peek into this wonderful experience.

For those who do not know how tea is prepared, it is the perfect place. You are first directed to a video show which gives details of history of TATAs. No details of tea manufacturing were shown. Only the corporate presentation about the company was boring. You can skip it comfortably. It is better to go directly to the live demonstration of running machinery of tea manufacturing. It was too crowded when we visited. The upstairs lecture is also good. Then you are directed to the tea shop and tea testing area.
