Had a great time here with family. There is some distance to walk within the zoo, which may be tiresome during hot and humid conditions. There are Asiatic lions, tigers (white as well), hyena, leopards and so on including many varieties of birds. The infrastructure is good and after the exit there is a small nice eatery of KTDC which serves some good cold non-alcoholic beverages and light refreshments. Overall, it offers a great place to walk under the shade of big trees.

Very nice zoo with great animal diversity. Birds, snakes, wild cats, they have it all.
The best thing is its in the middle of the city with gift shops, snack shops outside. No food is allowed inside.

Nice natural beauty place. Try to arrive at 9 am as much as possible because if you go at that time you can see all the sights without much rush and leave by noon.
📍Leave your bag and other luggage in the cloakroom as there is quite a bit of walking to do.
📍There are various places to relax after a tiring walk and many cold drinks are available inside.

The new Two green anaconda steels the show. Nice place to walk but if you think to take the travel car/cart. It's 800rs per head. Not worth the car. It's worth walking. Very few birds but too many Huge Tigers...

The zoo is serene and calm, lots of different animals and birds to view. A good place for kids to enjoy and rejuvenate.

Personally I feel for the animals, the wild is their call and they should be free in wild. Though they are taken care of they don't have the space to be free, i have visited the zoo probably after decades but i enjoyed it.

I visited this zoo during summer vacation. So it was a little much of a rush during that time. The zoo was well maintained. we should take the entry ticket and electric car service also available there. One of the best places to hangout with our family while in Thiruvananthapuram. Knowledgeable details about many species are displayed over each area. Mini canteens are facilitated in specific areas. I personally like the section of shakes because many varieties of shakes including anaconda can be seen there. The entire zoo and museum was kept up well, and parking was plentiful. Garbage is also placed in designated areas to prevent waste from being thrown in the wrong places so try to use them properly.🌏❤

Nice zoo in the heart of the city.. plastic free, well maintained, cooperative staff, good collection of animals.. a good 2 to 3 hrs of time required to cover the zoo. Visiting on a weekday will save your time in entering the zoo space.

The place was nice, the staff was polite and the zoo is completely no plastic zone. The security guards keep 20 rupees per bottle and plastic stuff you carry inside and return the money when you show them again the bottles and plastic stuff. Overall the experience was good and it took around 1-1.5 hrs to cover only zoological park. The rest of the area like the aquarium, dinosaur museum and others charge some additional fees. One thing I don't like is that they took only a single animal of a particular type in one cage which might make them more enraged as animals need some friends groups to live.

The best place was the reptile house which also has green anaconda from Amazon rainforest.
I would suggest that If you make a visit to trivandrum so you should definitely visit
padmanabha Swami temple
Zoo
Lulu mall
Floating cottages
And much more

Thank you
Have a great and enjoyable trip.

The last time I went to the zoo was Almost 10 years ago and I thought of visiting the place once again and imo they have maintained the place so well and it was a good experience as well, the staff were friendly but the security at the main gate was kinda rude, anyway they've developed the place from what I saw before.
Everybody should visit the place it's got a good ambience

We enjoyed the zoo on a rainy day it’s beautiful clean & well-maintained. They allow plastic water bottles inside for that one has to pay Rs20 it’s refundable 🥰very good idea 😍👍.
Electric buggies are available but very less so we had to walk as we had our elderly mom and dad with us. The zoo should have more buggies so that elderly people can enjoy the zoo😍.
We enjoyed watching animals it was a great experience. A great place to visit in Thiruvananthapuram.
