Great experience working with Vannam for painting of our entire apartment complex in 2017, and waterproofing work in certain blocks in 2021-22 and 2023-24. They have a committed team and well planned process. They also make sure there are no surprises in costing.

VANNAM did a marvellous job in 2017 in painting 172 apartments. Even today the building looks as good as new. They also did waterproofing work at G block in 2021-22, which resolved long standing water seepage problem and we find any issue during cyclone Michaung in December 2023. Also, they have done interior painting of all the rooms, hall and kitchen in my apartment with excellent results. Highly dedicated team with thorough professionalism!

Vannam !!! It was quite an accident that I came through Vannam, just through a google search. We took quotes from 4 companies. But from the time Vannam team members came to even take measurements, explain about the concepts / nuances and importantly their process of how they will do the work was highly impressive. I had used Vannam as the project contractors for painting and waterproofing my house. To provide a brief background, my house is almost 70 years old, and had not been painted for almost 10 years. Further, there were lots of water seepage issues mainly because of the intense rain spells in chennai over the last 4-5 years. This had caused considerable damage to the building.
I had used Vannam to basically do the entire waterproofing, painting and key repairs for the old house.
The experience was the best one that i ever had, and the same can be divided into the following stages:
1) Quote and Inspection stage;
2) Terrace waterproofing
3) Exterior
4) Interior
5) Post customer service

Quote and Inspection stage;
To begin with, they were absolute professionals in first studying the building, explaining the significance of material at every stage of work, and that too depending on our usage. So for eg. incase of terrace, they had suggested to go with a material at a specific density to eliminate seepage while also factoring our terrace garden upstairs. Similarly, the exterior of house, they explained why the specific paint is required for waterproofing, while for compound walls and interiors another range is useful.
Basis the same, they had submitted detailed scope of work with a tentative estimate of the project.
The team had ensured that the material and the cost is economical, while at the same time it provides the maximum benefit and overall is economical to the user from a usage perspective, based on the customer's choice! In this case, i went only for usage, and was not very keen on the decorative aspect etc.
In-between, they were very gracious to change the colours for exterior etc. and their billing was exactly in accordance with the estimate, and there were no arguments etc at the time of settlement.

Terrace waterproofing
Further, for terrace waterproofing, in order to give me a peace of mind (because i was very very skeptical if they can execute the work well) the team had registered the house for inspection with Dr.Fixit, who had regularly come and provided updates and certified the project.

Interiors and exteriors
In interiors also, they had suggested to go with waterproof options to strength the building in select areas based on a hydrometer, and 2- 3 layers in areas where the structure of the building was weak.
And in exteriors they had suggested to go with the best weather resistant paint to provide protection against the rains, and also avoiding unnecessary costs such as putty etc. as they patiently explained that it adds to the cost, and also, considering the harsh weather, the putty would crack down and damage the entire building.

i loved this professionalism, and the extent of study that they had done throughout the building, and the manner in which they chose the material depending on the purpose and usage of that place. This is their biggest strength.

The team had also opened a whatsapp group, where they had provided very regular updates on the status of the project. Kudos to the excellent project execution by Sakthi, Alex, Karthik and Manikantan.
Additional Kudos to Karthik for being available 24/7, and patiently handling all the queries, issues etc. At every stage, whenever i had any issues with a specific task, he immediately called (merely based on the text in the whatsapp group), and he immediately responded to the same.
Further, even after the project got over, i loved this fact that the team is providing excellent post-customer support, rather than switching the phones off (i had this issue with the past contractors) !
They had infact been pro-active, and told me to exam the building during the rains, and to post pics incase of any issues to take corrective actions.
And last, during the project execution time, the painters had behaved very well, there were no security issues etc. as the supervisors had adequately followed up with the team.
Overall it has been one of the best, smoothest and tension-free experience i ever had!

Background:
I had an opportunity to paint my 8 year old flat as my next door flat fell vacant. And i had to get all done in 3 to 4 weeks. Started reaching out to professional painters and got the quotations from 4.

Why I chose Vannam?
They stood out as an extremely professional team in whatever they say and do. The cost was on par with others, but there was abundant clarity allowing you to choose the right paint and model that suits your need. The only flip side was that they were very protectionist putting all the caveats to safeguard their interests, virtually putting the onus on us for any potential issues later on, which at times put a doubt in my mind about their sincerity to take up this opportunity. But to me that seems fair to anyone who wants to do serious business.

Team:
Karthik was quite thorough in explaining all the aspects of painting.
Manikandan did the measurements in a swift way and provided the detailed report, which no other could even come close. The color selection process was interesting and Mani did a great job as a color consultant.
Franz Sen was the delivery lead and was quite successful in ensuring that the work is done properly without any deviations. He managed the painters well and completed the work one day ahead, which was a great help to us. Mahima and Vishak did oversee the process and reached out to understand our concerns, which was a value add.
The painters too were very good and polite and did a reasonably good job. Obviously there are opportunities for improvements, but we are generally satisfied.

Overall:
We are very satisfied with the work done and no regrets at all. Hats off to the entire team, but Franz Sen and Manikandan were outstanding!! It was a good learning experience for us as well and all the best team for greater success in future!

Vammam, has been very professional in completing the painting of our apartment complex in time and taking care to ensure the filling of cracks before the painting.
