Traditional market to get some souvenirs with mid-low budget but still good for you to take back from Yogyakarta. Old vibes of Yogyakarta also make good vibes for your photo collection here. There are so many kinds of souvenirs, snacks, and signature foods of Yogyakarta here. Not far from 0 kilometer points of Yogyakarta

An interesting place and quite good to visit when you travel to Jogja because you can buy some typical souvenirs from Jogja here. a busy and friendly place for pedestrians. You don't need to worry about being hungry or thirsty because there are lots of food and drink vendors here.

The right place to look for merchandise, such as lurik, bakpia etc. It's quite hot when you enter the place at noon, because the place is indoor and the aisles are quite narrow, the catch here beside those flaw above, the price can be pretty cheap, if you bargaining the prices with seller

One stop center for souvenirs.
Bags, t shirt, herbs/jamu, traditional wear, toys & many more.
But Most shops can't bargain much.

Going early in the morning is better.
Not crowded.

Got people offering services to carry your stuffs.

Best place to get local stuffs like clothing, rattan bags, wedding items, shoes, market stuffs, local delicasis etc etc etc...lots lots of things. My wife bought the black garlic, jaggery palm and coconut sugar. On top of that, she even bought the chilli setan (devil chilli named cos of the spiciness). Also you can find, pure Rock sugar both white and golden brown. Bought quite lots of stuffs here. Just remember to increase your luggage allowance just in case its more then the allowable weight hihihihihi. Very well ventilated complex. Went on a weekday and yes it was not crowded. Some shops at the lower ground selling clothing open till 10. For market stuffs, go before 3pm. We had nice gado gado( mixed vege combo with steamed rice cubes with peanut sauce) lovely, mouthwatering.
Overall good place for buying local stuffs. Vendors are very friendly and kind hearted.

Sprawling huge local market that sellers virtually everything. Huge batik section and once inside there are several levels to explore. There is a section serving cooked food, fresh vegetables, raw meat, fresh fish and poultry. Preserved goods and fried goods. Plenty to explore.

traditional markets since before the Dutch colonial era began. this is the biggest market in Yogyakarta. Concurrently as a tourist center selling antique items, handicrafts and historical books. Here also sells a variety of food and clothing.

Local people also like to shop here because the price is relatively cheap compared to prices in modern supermarkets. It's fun to shop here or just go for a free time.

Now. This market looks so clean and presentable. Any hidden gems in 3rd floor. The first floor sell any various of batik. The price it's negotiable for tourist or local people. The atmosphere of this place is good for us. The using of masker and handsanitizer in this place is very helpfully.

I visited Pasar Beringharjo yesterday and I was amazed by the variety of goods and products they offer. From batik, traditional snacks, herbal medicine, to Buddha statues, you can find almost anything here. The market is very spacious and clean, with five floors of different sections. The sellers are friendly and helpful, and you can bargain for a good price. I especially enjoyed the batik collection, which has many patterns, colors, and fabrics to choose from. I bought some batik clothes and souvenirs for my family and friends. Pasar Beringharjo is a must-visit place if you want to experience the culture and history of Yogyakarta.

A favorite traditional market in Malioboro Yogyakarta, consisting of three sections: batik section, dry market and wet market. Recommended to explore all sections, and you may find many local products. I found it quite neat. And...your ability to bargain will be tested :D
