All in one solution for handycraft and ethnic souvenir of Indonesia. I always love to spend hours here for window shopping or get the idea of traditional handycraft. The shop really keep traditional javanese culture as you will see all the waitress are wearing kebaya and batik. The price is not always good, but you can compare with the other shops as well.

Best place to get souvenirs in Jogja!✨

The ambience is super javanese & they sell a lot of stuff from clothing to pillow cases, herbal drinks, souvenirs and jewelry, also cafe on the 3rd floor!

Super recommended for everyone (I always visit this store no matter how often I went to Jogja)

A medium size department store that retails wide range of batik fabrics of different prints, ready to wear apparels, souvenirs and mostly wooden handicrafts.
It also has a large section that sells snacks and herds/jamu (Javanese herbal drinks).
Staff are friendly and helpful that make your shopping a pleasant experience.
A good store to visit if you’re looking for quality products, somethings differ from the other stores that dotted on both side of Malioboro street.

Absolutely delighted to share my exceptional experience at Hamzah Batik, the zenith of top-quality Batik in Indonesia! The variety and uniqueness of the Batik here are unparalleled, depicting the true essence and richness of Indonesian culture. Every piece I observed was a masterpiece, reflecting meticulous craftsmanship and quality, making the price totally worthwhile—absolutely no regrets! The accessibility of the shop is a huge plus, and the inclusion of amenities like clean toilets and a serene surau for Muslim prayers accentuates the overall shopping experience, showcasing their thoughtfulness towards customers' needs. Furthermore, obtaining a 10% discount as a member felt like the cherry on top, making my shopping spree even more joyful! I left the shop with a smile, beautiful Batik, and the desire to return. To anyone in search of authentic, exquisite Batik, Hamzah Batik is your destination!

Lots of things you can do here, shop for souvenirs, eat, watching authentic cabaret performance, trying traditional drinks, etc.

My favourite are the traditional drinks, you can get very fresh beras kencur or kunir asam at the first floor just for 3000IDR

More than 3 floors full of Java art and craft, traditional clothes, bit expensive but good collection.

All floors are air conditioned and staffed to help

Unique experience for me as a foreign tourist. Packed with many many products and souvenirs from Java, some are good, some are not good… I’m sure you can find something you find interesting. They have batik clothings, wood carvings, snacks and more. For reasonable handmade batik (1x2m) costs 200000-250000rp. For short sleeved shirts (child XXL) costs 85000rp.

Hamzah Batik is known for offering a wide range of artistic creations, including batik textiles and wooden art pieces. While their products may be priced higher compared to those found at Teras Malioboro, the higher price reflects the quality and craftsmanship that goes into creating these unique works of art.

Batik textiles produced by Hamzah Batik are often meticulously handcrafted using traditional techniques, resulting in exquisite patterns and vibrant colors. The attention to detail and the use of high-quality materials contribute to the higher cost.

I recommend Hamzah Batik because they offer a wide variety of souvenirs in one store. This means you can find a range of products such as batik textiles, wooden art pieces, and possibly other types of souvenirs that represent the cultural richness of Yogyakarta.

The diversity of products makes it convenient for you to choose according to your preferences or as gifts for family and friends. Additionally, by having a wide selection of souvenirs in one place, Hamzah Batik becomes a convenient and efficient shopping destination for visitors.

Make sure to take the time to explore the various products offered by Hamzah Batik, and pay attention to the quality and authenticity of the items before deciding to purchase them as souvenirs.

Maybe this is the store most frequented by int'l travellers especially to get good local, traditional fashion items & unique souveniers for reasonable price. You can also sample local food in the restaurant and see performances upstairs. The store can be easily found on Malioboro street just across the big market. The attendants and waiters are all nice & polite.
Pictured here are the inside of the restaurant. I don't normally like the flour coated 'chicken steak' as it's called in Indonesia but here to my surprise, it was crunchy and yummy! Need to come back later!

Can be really crowded but if you can’t find souvenir’s here then you probably find them elsewhere either. Huge selection of batik.

It’s like everything you can get here under one shop. Will always come here for shopping. Most awesome was the small group Javanese singing w traditional instrument upfront. Good food too at the cafe upstairs. Love it.

One stop for all stuff.
They have clothes (batik, t-shirt), craft, and food. I went there on weekday in a non-holiday season so it's a very pleasant atmosphere. During holiday season, it's probably packed.

But overall, it's a nice place if you'd like to get souvenirs of any kind.

Had been here dozens of times... Always make it a must-visit place every time I go to Jogja. Yesterday I bought a beautiful red kebaya batik with a simple blue lurik skirt and wear those when visiting Borobudur with my Korean chingu. Hamzah Batik is highly recommended, affordable, and has many choices.

Very interesting place to visit, either to buy some souvenirs or just window shopping!
Fyi there also restaurant in the 3rd floor~
At first entrance you'll be greeted by the smell of kemenyan that strengthen the traditional Javanese vibes inside, and it goes more interesting in 2nd floor~
Must visit place when you walk in Malioboro!⭐

Huge place where you can buy Batik apparel, souvenirs, jamu and lots of other stuff. They also have a cafe upstairs called Raminten where they have a daily cabaret show. Must visit when you go to Malioboro. 😀👍👍👍👍👍
