The friendliest staff by far during our entire travels in Guatemala!! They happily adapted to our every whim... Early check in, free boat pick up, to land in a beautiful, natural paradise. Lovely cleaning & reception staff (with perfect English)!! The restaurant is just excellent; Cocktails and the Ceveche is a Gold star, all served with a very professional and warm service. Thank you for a wonderful experience in your lodge, you deserve the best of clients:)

Had a very enjoyable 2-night stay. Nice rooms, good food, and friendly staff. The door locks seemed to take some fiddling to lock. Our first night was a Saturday night and there was very loud music from across the lake until 4:30AM. Several from our group had a poor night's rest - can't fault the hotel, but hopefully it's not a regular issue. The following night was quiet.

I have stayed at Tjax as both a guest and a boating cruiser. They have a few thing to do, such as kayaking to see the howler monkeys, a beautiful hike in a nature preserve to a Shamen temple, or a guided horseback ride. They also have the coldest swimming pool in Rio Dulce on a hot summer day. I highly recommend visiting.

My second time staying there and I'll go back again. Cute, comfortable, clean rooms set within the mangrove. Very safe with good onsite parking. The pool is great and the seafood chowder is amazing. The staff are friendly and efficient.

Very nice hotel right on the shore of Rio Dulce. The got a range of cute little cabins, a nice pool area and a good restaurant The service is very good and the restaurant all day open with a good selection. They got as well a hike that belongs to the finca. Through a secondary forest until you reach a tower with views over the area.

Lovely eco-lodges, clean, hot showers and spacious. Located in the mangrove with wildlife all around, but curiously enough only a few mosquitos. Local bar and restaurant offered nice foods and drinks. Comfortable pool and several activities offered at the reception. We did the howler monky kayak tour at sunrise, which was lovely. Pickup/dropoff to Livingston also possible. Would recommend staying here!

Great place to stay for a couple of days. Food was excellent at the restaurant with great service. The hike adventure is not to be missed. Also the early morning guided kayak trip to see howler monkeys in the mangroves was amazing.

This place is beautiful! If you're super fussy about creepy crawlies then this is not the place for you, spiders and scorpions are regulars.

The food is good and there's a huge selection on the menu, drinks are good and reasonably priced.

The pool is large enough, be warned it's not heated nor are the smaller pools that look like hot tub 😂

The pool bar wasn't open while we were there but they didn't have any issues with us going to the main bar in our swimwear.

This place is worth a visit! The sunrise kayak is totally worth it, we saw the monkeys we'd been able too hear during the night 😍

This is a 5 star venue for yachties. Popular with backpackers and other hotel guests.
Service is excellent and swift. The pool is also above average.
I had my last birthday 🎂 lunch here which was excellent as well.
Tijax is regarded as one of the better Marinas on the Rio Dulce and I concur with that.
Tijax offer many tours and amenities. I did the horse riding on my birthday which was great fun.

I'm advised though that the horses were not shod, which explains why they tried to avoid the main path. This may need to be addressed as horse lovers have explained to me that this is not good.

omg!!! what a wonderful place!!! ❤❤ it is neselled in a marshy part of Rio Dulce. the rooms are like little cabins and they have air conditioning, comfortable beds, and hot water! 🛀 you would think from the marshy location that there would be lots of mosquitos, but we had no problems even without repellent. you can take a horseback tour or walking tour right from the hotel and it's totally worth it. they take you back into the jungle where you cross an amazing suspended bridge and end with a lookout point that's breath taking. i didn't like the food at the restaurant, but just take a 10 minute trek into town and enjoy the wonderful restaurants there. i'm in love 💖 🤗 🤗 💖 and this place is a must see!! 👌👌👌

Very nice location in the mangroves. A place to relax and to make excursions from here. The accommodations, small huts, are good, the service pleasant. Please note that the last part of the road is a bit uneven.

A village of small cabins, mostly 2-4 men. Air-conditioned (a rarity in Guatemala). Our cabin was on the marina water front, most cabins are on an inside creek, very beutifull. The staff is friendly and mostly speaks English. Food is very very good and can be ordered until 2100

Hacienda Tijax is our home away from home! It's definitely a beautiful Jungle Lodge & Marina but it's the staff that makes it so inviting and ensures your stay is inviting and comfortable. There is so much to do here like kayaking tours to see the Howler Monkey's, hiking tours on the property that leads to many points of interest including mountain views and a super fun long swing bridge to cross. There is also horseback riding, a beautiful swimming pool and a very good restaurant and bar. They even allowed several of us staying in the marina to start a yoga class in the beautiful pavilion. We visited several Marina's around this area, all are unique in their own way but Hacienda Tijax was a perfect match for us! I actually give the staff 10 Stars🤩

A relaxing getaway on the shores of the Rio Dulce. Great mix of drinks and food available at the restaurant and bar. Good variety of of activities available including a jungle trail with tree canopy suspension bridges to a folly on top of the hill giving an amazing panorama of the valley. Staff speak Spanish and English and really try to make you feel welcome.

Awesome!!! Great, clean, friendly and funky Cabin Hotel.
Good food and Drinks. Drink Gin and Tonic(keeps the mosquitoes away)!!!! AND take a drive to the hot mineral springs at Casacadas Calientes El Paraiso(25km west from Rio Dulce town center, on Road 7E). Highly recommended

Amazing jungle experience! Hacienda Tijax offers the comfort of air-conditioned lodges and cocktails-on-tap in the blissful pool, while still immersing you in the lush forest and wildlife of Rio Dulce. Staff are friendly and happy to organise local trips and activities.
