Hotel Viñas del Lago

This hotel is in an excellent location with a fantastic view of the water and many amenties, all at a reasonable price. The simple but comfortable room had A/C, private bath with a hot shower, cable TV, two beds, toiletries (soap, shampoo) and a ceiling fan. The room was cleaned daily. The grounds are tip top with hammocks for hanging out and small animals like rabbits and agoutis roaming around. The pool and restaurant area is very nice. The restaurant has an extensive menu, good prices and convenient hours. The food and cocktails were tasty and the service was excellent. This hotel has a private dock for swimming, which also means that you can get a boat taxi in Rio Dulce under the bridge after getting off the bus at the Litegua station. In fact, the public boat to Livingston picked us up and dropped us off at the hotel's dock with no extra charge. I couldn't find this hotel on any travel site so I had to reserve via WhatsApp. After answering all my questions, they sent me a link to a personalized payment page so I could pay with a credit card. It was somewhat cumbersome but I didn't have any issues. I'd definitely stay here again.

Nice place, the rooms are basic. Small rest room, clean, good price, the pool and restaurant are together and good size, not for swimming. The pier is great also. This is not a resort but a greate place if want stay near the castel for a fair enough price.

Highly recommend Viñas del Lago as the variety of different style room or cabana options are extensive and the resort is beautiful. For the owners to call this a hotel is an understatement. This is the resort to stay at, right on Lago de Izabal and just a short 10 minute walk to Castillo de San Felipe de Lara, a perfectly restored Spanish colonial fort that is a must see. We spent at least an hour talking to the castillo curator about the history of the area! The resort is a botanical paradise and surround the cabins with picturesque flowers and butterflies. I had a difficult time keeping myself from spending too many hours observing and photographing them. The bathrooms and rooms are extremely clean and we were told if there are any issues they will make make right immediately. We did not observe any issues whatsoever. The pool and restaurant is excellent as is the management, owners and staff who made us feel like we were family.

Nice quiet little spot with gorgeous views of the lake! Decent food, alcohol and a pool!

Navštíveno při výletu na pevnost.

Lo visitamos en nuestra visita al Castillo de San Felipe, ya que esta cercano. Un Lugar con buena vista al lago. Recomendable para almorzar si solo vas de paso. No nos hospedamos, pero las cabañas se ven muy atractivas para poder disfrutar un buen amanecer. Sus precios están accesibles.

Mucha limpieza en sus habitaciones, paredes limpias y bien pintadas,
Sanitarios muy limpios, ropa de cama limpia, todos estos aspectos son primordiales para los huéspedes,
Mi visita fue por viaje de trabajo, sin embargo voy a planificar visita con mi familia, precio accesible, lo recomiendo!

Un hotel pintoresco a la orilla de Río Dulce, con excelente ubicación ya que se encuentra a pocos metros del Castillo San Felipe. Lo mejor de todo es su excelente comida, les recomiendo el caldo de mariscos, es exquisito. Si duda alguna, un lugar al que volveremos con mi familia.
