Beautiful destination in Guatemala! The Food, scenery, people and river itself is amazing! I highly recommend going to Tijax waterfront hotel. Right on the river and you're able to access everything from there!

located west of the hurricane belt, the rio dulce and more specific the Fronteras area are fantastic to leave your boat during hurricane season, we left our Wind Song at Ram marina for some months and spend some time at monkey bay as well, both provide super services. a great plus and lots of fun is the buzz town of fronteras for daily food shopping and for boat stuff.

I visited in the Summer of 2016 and it was an experience that I knew any photo or video will do it justice! I had to simply embrace being in the experience. It is a place so connected to nature. A place where a lot of history has happened and continues to happen as it is close to the border of Belize. I look forward to taking my husband on my 2023 trip to Guatemala so that he can visit, as a French, I think he will love it.

About Livingston
Town in Guatemala

Livingston is a town, with a population of 17,923, in Izabal Department, eastern Guatemala, at the mouth of the Río Dulce at the Gulf of Honduras. The town serves as the municipal seat of the municipality of the same name. It was Guatemala's main port on the Caribbean Sea before the construction of nearby Puerto Barrios. Livingston is noted for its mix of Garífuna, Afro-Caribbean, Maya and Ladino people and culture. In recent decades Livingston has developed a large tourist industry. source
