After a very long walk through the jungle of Izabal and Izabal lake, visiting Mayan towns, is Cueva del Tigre. The main attraction is the pool a few meters from the entrance. A staircase is needed to reach the pool down if you’re not brave enough to jump. The sensation is fantastic.

Very interesting tour done by Raoul, a great guide. This is part of a tour of the village (aldea plan tatin) that is a great community tourism initiative. What you pay will be redistributed among the community to pay for medicine, school supplies etc.
The tour can begin/end from Livingston by pickup or lancha. You can also visit the college which is interesting as they teach the students agriculture, there are some cool crafts to buy abs you can eat at a restaurant to support them.
The cave itself is really big, you can have a mayan ceremony at the entrance and there's a part with water where you can swim so don't forget your swimsuits or you won't be able to do everything! A headlamp can also be helpful.
If you're interested you can contact Raoul's wife Lilian Lilian via Whatsapp at +50256271865

Impresionante lugar.
