Fantastic experience at this secluded and peaceful hotel with beautiful views of the lagoon from your hammock. It is run by a brother and sister of the nearby indigenous community. Besides being very friendly, welcoming and helpful, the food they make is delicious too! A true hidden gem!

The Kayak tour is great as well. They know the route to a laguna escondida, which is a very quiet place to hang out and wait for the birds to sing.

Recommended to call them in advance, so they can pick you up from Rio Dulce or Livingston. +502 4804-7511

Q'ana Itz'am is a great opportunity for travellers to experience real life in a remote unspoiled area, staying with a family who are part of the local indigenous community.

We had an unforgettable, beautiful experience staying overnight with lovely friendly people in February 2024.

Peaceful, clean, basic and reasonably priced rooms with private bathroom and shower are available in wooden huts, surrounded by jungle and minutes on foot from a deck where you can lounge on hammocks and enjoy watching life on the river.

Reliable WIFI is available at their restaurant which serves fresh local food. Kayaks available for rental too, and if needed Álvaro gives a great guided tour.

Advance booking necessary, and the website contact details are not working. Filomena (502-48047511) or her brother Alvaro (502-32639674) are both contactable via WhatsApp message (in Spanish). They can arrange collection by lancha (small boat) from both Rio Dulce and Livingston at reasonable prices too! Highly recommended

Solo pudimos pasar un día en el Biotipo Chocón Machaca alojados en Q'ana Itz'am llevado por los hermanos Filomena y Álvaro. Fue una experiencia única.

Nos dieron a conocer la comunidad indígena + la naturaleza que les rodea en kayak y barca + cocina local. O simplemente se puede holgazanear en una hamaca viendo la vida del lago.

Para llegar allí es necesario ir en barca bien desde Río Dulce o Livingstone, ellos pueden organizarlo.

El alojamiento es básico en habitación con baño privado y rodeado de selva en pleno lago.

Es necesario reservar con antelación. Llamando o mediante WhatsApp: Filomena 502-48047511 o Álvaro 502-32639674. Hay WiFi
Precios muy razonables.
