Quiet place with a nice relaxing area with hammocks, tables and chairs and a small pool. They serve breakfast and hot/cold drinks. Staff are friendly and nice. Place is kept very clean. 10 mins walk from the dock.

The staff were really friendly, especially Amara who always helped with a smile. Breakfast was well priced and delicious. Bed in the dorm was a 7/10, pillows were super thin also. I was the only person in the dorm which was nice. No hot water in the showers, it can get quite chilly on an overcast day. But for 60q a night, it’s good value for money

We didn't stay here, but the bar was fantastic! The bartender, Jonas was great! And all the guys that work there are super friendly! ... The hospitality was awesome. There's live music on Fridays! ... The best bar in town!

Really great social vibe here. Totally relaxed and the owner and manager are super nice. There's live music twice a week and a day trip that takes you up the river to the Tiger Cave. Totally another world. Stunning. Looks like you're in the world of Robinson Crusoe/Swiss Family Robinson (basically the best of the Robinsons). Cool combination of both locals and backpackers hanging out at the bar at night. Unique place.

I have no idea why the other reviews of this place think it is so "dirty". I wouldn't say this place is for families, but it's definitely great for backpackers.

You're all travelling through Guatemala. Does every roadside tortilla lady need to have white table cloths too?

Would definitely recommend, has the best "vibe" of the hotels available in Livingston.

The location is nice, away from town just a touch enough to escape city noises, and filled with majestic trees and birds. The accommodations are perfectly simple, and the vibe here is the embodiment of tranquility; just chill. No stress, no worries. Hammock until dinner time, chat with people from around the world, party late or catch a long nights rest. Lo que sea. They cater to the budget backpackers so well but still keep the facilities maintained enough that a private room feels like a hotel. But of all the greatness here, the owner was the cherry on top. Chris was warm, adventurous and hospitable. He personally saw to every need of every traveler wether they be broke wanderers or weekend vacationers. The energy here is welcoming, the prices reasonable, and the hammocks comfy. Well done Chris and crew, I hope to see you all soon! Stay tuned for updates, as they are working on creating a cliff jumping/free climbing tour. For adventurous souls this is the best way to spend a day!

This is a fantastic little hostel, with a great vibe and all the essentials for a good stay. It’s not a flash place, but if you’re a traveller looking for a home away from home this is it. We stayed for a week and the staff really made the place for us. Great atmosphere, and every one of the people who work here made us feel welcome and at ease. I fell sick during our stay and they all took such care checking that I was as well as I could be. The faisilities are basic but good and always got cleaned really thoroughly. The staff can also help organising some really nice tours, we did the “reggea on the river” and it was a highlight of our stay. It’s such good value and we would be so happy to come back any time!

Stayed here due to a strong recommendation of a friend. Within the first night all the staff knew my name. You will be treated as a friend and a family member, instead of a client. Family style dinner every night brings people together and I wish I stayed there for 2 weeks instead of 2 nights. The swimming pool inside a boat is a bomb! I wouldn't stay anywhere else in Livingston should I ever go back.

Run by two great guys, this is one of the most relaxed and sociable hostels I've ever stayed in. It's setup with activities and meals to make it super sociable but also with space for people to chill by themselves if they prefer. Rooms and toilets are basic but easily made up for by the vibes.

Casa de la iguana acted as a really cool place to base my self in Livingston. The nights were great fun. And the days were so relaxing the volunteers and staff were so accommodating and made th party . The town is really cool. Must be the cheapest place in the carribbean. The rooms were perfect and the price made it even better. Would Highly recommend it

A great hostel with a lovely, chilled out atmosphere. The rooms are all clean and the staff are friendly and fun. The food is nice and good sized portions, and the hostel offers lots of local activities.

I love Livingston and Casa de la Iguana! It might be the most budget friendly Caribbean town along the coast. Casa de la Iguana is the perfect hostel. They have a pool made from an old boat. Staff is super friendly. The family style dinner with all you can drink beer is the best deal I found. We took their boat out to seven altars & up the Rio Dulce. Don't miss!

Nice, cheap, chilled hostel in Livingstone. 10mins from the centre and the lanchas but a good place to relax. Toilets and rooms and clean

Fun Atmosphere, Chill Out Vibe - great spot to meet other travelers, the food is great, rooms are clean, i love the 'family style' dinners which allow you to meet other travelers and share good conversation over good food, wifi is also turned off at 8pm to foster the 'family' vibe and have everyone enjoying the company of other travelers (i really love hostels that do this) i also did the tiger cave tour - highly recommended!
