Tesco Express

A nice and convenient store in the city centre for picking up items while busy. There are lots of self-service tills so you can get in and out very quickly with a meal deal or whatever takes your fancy. The staff are helpful if needed, and of course you can give your clubcard points a little boost here too.

This supermarket Is One of the best i've been in my Life and they have everything you Need , they have two huge floor to make you Happy to spend Money there.
And the staff Is even nice when you try to ask for some help.
The Place Is really clean and everything Is on the Shelf.

Popped into your store earlier for plasters as my new shoes had ripped my feet apart.i went up to one of your male staff and asked where the plasters were kept.he did no more and went to the first aid box and got me a load of plasters . amazing. Didn't get his name but it was around 5pm o. Saturday 30th March. Love kindness made my day

Great service by Rimpi from Caxton gate new street on the 5th April 2023 . Really helpful went out of her way to find a product I couldn’t find .
I was taken aback by how helpful she was even looking for me upstairs to notify me of a product that I had missed . Thank you riimpi for your service .

Started shopping here since October when I moved to town. Place is small, but has practically most of what I need, and usually has a good selection of items. Never had a problem, except that sometimes the shelves can be a little bare, but that's because I mostly shop in the early morning right when they open (6am) or at night after 8pm, so they either haven't stocked the shelves yet or they've been emptied by shoppers. I've only been in once during the day a few weeks ago and it was rammed, hence why I shop at the quieter times (also less people which is great for faster shopping and less chance of getting Covid).

Never had a problem with staff, some say good morning to me or thank me when I clear my basket from the self checkout tills. It can be slightly annoying when, like other shops, they move things around, especially when you're used to them being in a certain spot for a while, but I usually find them in the end.

As to the escalators, they've been out of running use for a while, though the down escalator was working when I went on Monday night. I wish they were both working as trying to climb those escalators is rather annoying, especially with a mask on. It makes me feel like I want to trip up or something. There is one lift for trolleys to get to the first floor.

As to Covid related issues, they do have a cleaning station at the entrance for cleaning baskets and trolleys, and they have a few cleaning stations around the store, including upstairs. Stickers on the aisle floors remind to stay 2-metres apart and the tannoy announces Covid rules as well. If you're really Covid-conscious, I'd recommend shopping at their quieter times if possible. Also, their stock of masks and hand sanitisers always seem to be in good stock, well, they are when I shop there. Never seen the shelf empty.

**There are no checkouts with conveyor belts in this store, so bear this in mind if you plan to do a big shop with a trolley. If you plan to do a bigger shop here, try and shop at their quieter times (before 12pm and after 8pm) if possible.**

Downstairs: frozen foods, milk, dairy products, fruit & veg (non-frozen) , batteries, light bulbs, etc.

Upstairs: Alcohol, crisps, chocolate, snacks, drinks (pop, teas, coffered, etc) small freezer with frozen veg, chips etc, tinned foods, pasta, sauces, electrical items (kettles, etc) kitchen utensils, toiletries, cleaning products, bread & other bakery items. And other items.

Roweesha on first floor and (blonde haired) Emily on ground floor.

I came in to tesco a week ago to buy something and found it not out on the shelves. After speaking with Roweesha she ran down to the stock room and found some for me.

Yesterday and the day before, Emily did the same thing. Both of these members were so polite and helpful. They kindly offered to go check and made it feel that nothing was too much trouble.

I hope that someone in management will pass on the appropriate compliments to both these employees as their efforts made up for three occasions where products that a customer wanted to buy AND Was IN STOCK was not out on the shelves and available to buy!

There are some simple rules to retail, luckily your staff seem to be able to make up for any shortfalls in tesco knowledge and that is why you have 5 stars.

Tesco's in my opinion is reasonable for the city they sell most items for the kitchen table, fast check out either on the machine or staff member.

It is everything you would expect from a Tesco Express, only this is bigger, it is two floors and right at the Birminham City Center.

Not bad...has a little of everything but a bit expensive

My man Posh (wrong spelling for sure, Asian fella) found sweet potatoes for me deep in the warehouse. Guy is great - requires promotion or pay raise!

Tesco Express is a wonderful store to purchase all your groceries. They also have fair prices for their items.

Lovely gentleman mixed race guy went out of his way to get me my meal deal from the delivery very much appreciated went above and beyond to help me very helpful

Smaller stores be aware that the prices are higher than in a bigger store

Used to work at this tesco branch couple of years ago great manager and team back then and a well run store, no complaints :)
