Best ironmonger DIY store for miles if you have an odd size but bolting hes not got it you probably wont find it locally been dealing with David tlfor 25 years the most pleasant and knowledgeable man you will ever meet

Great local hardware shop selling loads of things from swiss army knives, airguns, pots and pans and yes, washers. Has own parking at rear which is also very helpful.

Old School ironmongers. An Aladdins cave of bloke type stuff sold by expert staff. You name it they've got it (in one of the scores of little wooden drawers behind the counter). Support it or it will disappear and you'll be reduced to faceless hyperbrands such as B&Q or Homebase!
Be warned!!

I am 11yrs old and i love going to goldthorpe's, is is lovely and i love looking at all the goodies as i call them...
They are very kind and helpful and always has what my dad (simon tunnard) needs and it is userly very good quality.

Hard to take in the variety of useful gear in tiny shop...Aladdins....?
Dave is top man and knows where everything is. I don't look at prices much so not going to say, but if I get what I am looking for, it'll do.
Not much fun spending half a day at Homebase.

One of those long-standing independent hardware stores that are so much better for getting advice than the megastores of Homebase, B&Q etc.
Lot's of interesting bits crammed all into a tiny shop but the shopkeeper will point out where the things you need are.
I went in to get a special type of washer. He had it in stock but charged me £1 which I feel is a bit overpriced for a bit of metal, still, better than having to pay £3 for a whole bag of them that I didn't need.

Warning, the shop closes for lunch everyday between 1-2pm

Huge range of items. Parking at rear. Expert advice on hand. Willing to sell down to that single missing screw or washer. Be prepared to pay top price though

I've only just come across this store and have tried ringing to ask if they stock a certain type of hook (to a. save a drive b. avoid going to one of those faceless places). The phone just rings and rings. Clearly they don't like people calling them so why advertise a phone number?! disappointing.
