The Contented Sole

I have been there with my family on the 8th of Dec 2023, today is 31st Mac, 2024, I'm back in my own country for a few months , but I still can't forget the taste , the nice smell of that little white head fish .....I enjoy it so much, it will remain as my fond memories forever .

Absolutely fantastic choice of food, the quality and taste of food. Staff and service was good too, can't wait to go again.

Warm and friendly. A great welcome when you walk through the door. Biggest and best Scampi I have had. The Whitebait and the Haddock were also delicious. Recommended

Return visit for us again this year. Still lovely and fresh. We had scampi and haddock. Really nice and well priced. Lovely wee pub.

Extremely good Fish and Chips. Kitchen was closed but they made it for me anyway. Fantastic service with a smile. Definitely Recommended.

Popped in for a bit of lunch on Saturday with the family.
We had our grandson with us in his pram so the staff made some space for us to have the pram at the table. Very accommodating.
Extensive menu for lunch and extremely reasonable pricing.
I had the local fish which was delicious and cooked to perfection.
My wife had the chicken goujons and she cleared her plate.
The son in law had lasagne and he polished the lot off even although it was a large portion.
My daughter had a mixed platter which she said was amazing. She had to take some home as the portion was so big.
All in all we had a fantastic lunch in a cosy wee pub.

The cost made this extremely good value for money.

Will definitely recommend the Contented Sole to anyone.

Great food and excellent service, breaded haddock was delicious

Called in for a drink but ended up ordering food which was absolutely delicious! Me, my husband and son ordered the fresh scampi which was huge prawns! Never had scampi like it before. Good portions. All fresh. Service was excellent. Would definitely recommend and call again.

Brilliant place and exceptional atmosphere. Nice and cozy, with an old fisherman style. Only had a few drink but we felt so good 😊. Will definitely visit the place again and try the food too. Also must mention that the prices are more than decent.

Excellent food and friendly polite service with a good selection of beers, largers and spirits all reasonably priced.
The contented sole is dog friendly in the down stairs bar areas but not in the restaurant.

Lovely to find a child and dog friendly pub. Food was excellent with the added bonus of toddler size portions. Excellent value for money and great service, staff couldn't be more friendly and accommodating. I would recommend booking at peak times.

Excellent restaurant full waiter service, 3 different meals ordered no one disappointed, had main and sweet, we will be going back again.

Amazing tasting local food with very friendly staff and unbeatable prices. Family/kid friendly. It might sound like a comercial, but I am very satisfied that I stopped by mistake here. Highly recommended.

Nice cosy little pub, ordered fish and chips locally sourced fish, eyemouth being a harbour town it was very fresh. Staff were all super friendly.

Amazing food along with amazing staff. A great extensive menu including all your seafood favourites. We found going for "light bites" size was more than enough. The fish and chips was amazing.

What a lovely pub with lovely friendly helpful staff. Want to say thank you so much to the lovely chef who was due to finish @ 3pm but stayed on to do food for us & 3 other people who came in after us. We had the lite bite fish platter could not fault it & it came with a lovely mixed salad & chips. Would highly recommend & hope we can visit again before going home
