The Bookshop by the Sea

I absolutely love this shop. I saw a book they recommended online but it wasn’t available yet in the US. I was able to purchase it and a lovely jumper, and they shipped it to me in Texas! I’m loving my book and looking forward to finding more treasures to purchase from the shop.

Went today to have a look at the shop, I asked the lady working there some advice on a book I may like based on another book I have already read and enjoyed, and she advised two books that I actually think I will really enjoy reading. Thank you!

Tracked down a copy of Gotrek and Felix: Dragonslayer for me
(no longer in print). Place looks lovely inside, well designed stickers and they even serve tea! Will come back again.

Amazing bookstore! I stumbled across on a holiday to Wales and the lady was so pleasant and inviting. The shop had a lovely welcoming atmosphere and absolutely loved blind date with a book. Reading the blind date book now and I love it it was like a surprise gift to myself.

I'm now hunting around my local area for something similar but no luck so far! If I lived closer I'd def be a regular. Thank you!

Excellent book shop that's bigger on the inside and offers plenty of opportunity for serendipitous discoveries amongst its varied stock of old & new titles, casually arranged so that there's always something to catch your eye wherever you look. Basement may demand a bit more crate-digging and searching but you'll probably come away with at least one treasure. Staff seem very pleasant, there's no hurry and they've left a few chairs around for you to consider your finds more leisurely.

Found books even waterstones struggled to find, amazing customer service, got the book I wanted super fast, highly recommend!!

Lovely little shop and deceptively large, make sure to head downstairs for the full selection! Staff have always been helpful whenever I've visited and the shop has a warm and cosy atmosphere.

If you’ve ever seen an Instagram video of those cute, picturesque bookstores and wished you could visit one, I can confirm The Bookshop by the Sea is a perfect example. Staff are very welcoming and knowledgeable about genres, writers and upcoming releases. The store has a great collection of poetry, feminist and LGBTQIA+ titles, and works by local authors and artists. They also offer second-hand books downstairs, and I was overjoyed to find titles missing from my collection.

The store regularly holds events and workshops, including live music. I attended some workshops during the Autumn of 2022 when I moved to the town. This was a great way to meet people and feel part of a community.

Such a beautiful bookshop with a fantastic selection of new and second hand books. The owner, Freya, exudes knowledge and passion--definitely let her recommend you your next read. So much love and thought has gone into creating this book shop and we are lucky to have it here in Aberystwyth.

Absolutely splendid little independent bookshop. Old and new books are available as well as local coffee and cakes! Bought a book and stayed way longer than I expected just reading. Incredibly relaxing.
