Fantastic start to the day visiting this place! Quaint station and rail, gorgeous views both going uphill and at the peak. We went when it was quite overcast so weather was a little bleak but I imagine it’d be stunning when skies are clear.

Went there with a bunch of oldies including my father-in-law who’s in a wheelchair. There are two entry-cum-exit ways but only one of them allows for handicapped or wheelchair-bound passengers (located on the left side of the station), hence why we had to wait just a tad longer than most people. The friendly attendant was ever so helpful in making sure we were in safe.

There’s a delightful cafe at the top and they have some vegan and vegetarian offerings. The other spots at the peak were a bit dated to be honest, but still worth the £6 up I think. We paid £4.00 for my handicapped dad, the other seniors £5.50, and my husband and I £6.00.

A lovely start to a day out in Aberystwyth! There's only a 10 min wait for carriages and when you're at the top you can read all about the history of it upstairs in the observation building. I recommend the camera obscura while you're there too (it costs a pound). The gift shops were very sparsely stocked but it was mid October. Restaurant was really nice and food was great. Stunning views, even better if you take binoculars. Red kites and buzzards are flying about as well.

Visited Aberystwyth this week & it wouldn't be the same without a trip up the cliff railway. This was our 3rd time, but our friends first who was a bit unsure at first. Once at the top, when she saw the views, she was glad she made the trip. Reasonably priced to help upkeep a unique quirky bit of history. Worth a visit & ride, but possible to get to the top by walking if your fit enough.

Arrived early on a Friday morning, and caught the first train to the top the ticket office had just opened and the inspector at the desk was polite and helpful the cost for adults was £6 one way and £7 return.
It took around 8-10 minutes to get to the top.the views from the top are amazing.we really enjoyed the train ride.

Definitely worth coming up here for the view. You can walk up (its quite steep) for free or get the railway.

Dogs are allowed on the railway.

The food at the top was very tasty too!

Theres more up the top for kids and families including bowling, crazy golf and Frisbee.

We spent a good few hours up the top and walked down which was nice to go over the bridges and see the trains going underneath.

It is a great place to visit, especially in nice weather. Worth spending a few pound, £7 each for a return ticket, for the amazing views of Cardigan Bay and the town. There's a nice cafe at the top where you can have a selection of drinks, soft or alcoholic, cream teas, or something savoury to eat.
At the summit you can read about the history of Constitution Hill and pay a £1 fee to see the Camera Obscurer. There is also a coastal path which you can join from here.

A very gentle ride up and down the hill. You have time to think whilst traveling at a leisurely pass. Great views over the bay and plenty of time to take some photos.

Lovely friendly & helpful staff.
The ride is a wonderful experience.
At top resturant, cafe, toilets and lots of things to do. Best of all are the views.
A must to do when you visit the area.

Loved it! We were lucky enough to get a parking space outside the entrance. There are not many spaces and the rest park on streets leading up to it.
We took our dog on no problem and no charge.
It's a great view going up, you can stand on the end for the best view or sit inside further back, still a great view.
There is a little gap between the carriage and the platform and some big steps that might be a little awkward for disabled people to navigate.
At the top is a brilliant view, you can rest at a nice cafe or walk a little bit up to a gift shop, viewing tower and Frisbee game thing. There is also a little bowling alley near the cafe.
We were lucky enough to see 4 RAF planes circle across the mountains and the sea whilst we were up there.
The food from the cafe was lovely, easy to order from an app too.
You can walk down or like us just get a return ticket (£6.50 each Adult) and go to the train when you are ready, we didn't wait more than a couple minutes to go up or down.
I would highly recommend a visit here. It just might be worth using the park and ride if you want to visit the rest of Aberystwyth whilst you're there, parking after we went here was impossible on the sea front.

Great place to visit with the kids. If your a gift aider and provide your details you get a receipt to return for free within the year. Beautiful views when you reach the top.
Small train cabin that takes you to the top of the hill. Very steep hill so if you hate heights this trip isn't for you.
Once you get to the top there is a lovely little cafe, some toilets and a ganes room where the kids can enjoy a game of bowling (£6 for 20 minutes - get a token from the cafe).
There is also a gift shop and a rower the kids can climb. Lovely little gem of a place.
Parking is close by too with only a short walk.

The view is amazing! Quite a touristy spot that the wait time could be long. It was a fun experience and to see the beach and the harbor area from the high point. They are dog friendly, so nice to see dogs are allowed in the train ride. There’s a cafe up there. Enjoyed the spot and views very much!

Loved this. It was very windy which added to the excitement. We were 4 adults, 2 children and 2 dogs. We had lovely coffees, tea and assorted confectionery. The views were terrifying and amazing both. Good prices too. Well worth a visit. Be ready for the steep hill from the promenade.

Loved this, was the one thing that brought me to the town when I picked up a leaflet where I was staying elsewhere. Amazing views from the top too, including Snowdon approx 45 miles away.

What a fantastic view from the top of the overlooking Aberystwyth. We were lucky as it was a sunny day. One carriage goes up as one comes down the steep hill. Going up stand at the back of the carriage for the best view. Your ticket is valid for a year after purchase. There's a lovely cafe at the top which is spotlessly clean. The food is good. The man in the kiosk at the bottom was very funny. There's a small car park. However the railway is tucked away at the edge of town and took us a few minutes to find it. I didn't see any signs. It's well worth a trip up to the top.

Didnt use the tram but my mother did. As we opted to walk up with dogs. But she said it was nice little journey especially if you can't walk up to the amenities on top. Which is a must see views and a pint amazing up there

It was a steep walk up as I have crutches but I went up the steps instead of the slope.
Nice views on the way up and lovely views from the top.
A cafe too.

Was relaxing up there.

Cost £7 adult .
Can take dogs 🐕 on.
Was something different we enjoyed it.

Our visit to the cliffs was absolutely perfect, the sun shone and the view was so clear.
It's appreciated that it is a dog friendly environment too, our dog Molly enjoyed her ride on the cliff train, it saved her little legs.
The restaurant at the top served good food with added extra of a perfect sunny view of the sea.
Price is good too, not to expensive for the train.
I walked back down and that was a good walk, again with lovely views. Caught the daughter and Molly the cocker spaniel having their ride back down on the train.
Perfect afternoon in Aberystwyth
