Edelweiss Cafe

We visited the Edelweiss cafe for a quick cream tea and a scone. And there were both perfect. The scone was all buttery and served with a cream and a delicious strawberry jam. The prices were more than reasonable, the place was very clean and the lady that served us was very polite. We totally recommend it if you visit Cheddar.

Lovely little cafe, it's been here for years without much changing. Proper pot of tea with a China cup and saucer. Lovely full English breakfast and no cheating on the tuna sandwich and chips either. Prompt and friendly staff, well worth a visit.

Lovely little cafe in Cheddar Gorge. Good food, well cooked and friendly staff, it is dog friendly as well allowing pups inside as well as outside.

Lovely and cozy small place in a very convenient location. Few steps away from car parks. Roast beef was amazingly good. The gravy was extra delicious and vege were cooked just right. Cravings satisfied! Food price is very much pocket-friendly. Staff members were nice and polite, too.

We love this little place, the cream teas are amazing. They have lovely cakes and pastries. The staff are lovely and most importantly the toilet is clean! It's a small place with out door seating and very dog friendly inside and and out. Not much room inside for wheelchairs but the staff are happy to move things around to accommodate you if possible.

Such a lovely small cafe. Scones were really good and I would definitely recommend their carrot cake. All homemade. The ladies are very friendly and helpful.

Perfect English Breakfast, sausage, bacon, mushrooms, tomato, fried potatoes, baked beans and fried bread.

This is only the second time I have stayed in Cheddar after a 40 year gap (it used to be our annual holiday as a child) and last years stay was affected by Covid. This trip brought back some great memories including eating at Edelweiss. A lovely clean cafe with very friendly staff. The breakfast sandwich was delicious complimented by excellent coffee.
Only time prevented me from having lunch but I will book in when I stay again next year.

Great little cafe, we were made to feel so welcome and our 2 dogs as well. Great food, parked right outside and great value. Hope to return one day.👍

Food here (full English) was a nice surprise.
Good quality food, all very well cooked, with very efficient staff. One member even told me about my glasses that I nearly forgot about, many thanks.

We had breakfast here on a visit and the food was delicious, excellently cooked and plenty of it, service was super friendly and lovely. Would definitely recommend going here.

I'm gluten and milk intolerant, and had a few options.
I chose red bush tea and vegan breakfast, very enjoyable.
Hubby had steak and ale pie with veg and roast potatoes, which he said he really enjoyed.
It was a little bit snug for room where we sat, but it was at a busy time of day.
I would recommend it.

Only passing through briefly this time, but the cooked breakfast and good service together with the ambience means that we will return.

Had breakfast here for the first time. Egg, bacon and tomatoes. As said in another review - real bacon. All good quality and cooked well, very tasty... and friendly service. We were first in when they opened, very Covid safe! P.S. That's one rasher!!☺

Very good to visit such a lovely place, good food and they didn't scimp on the fellings.

Good place to stop before tackling a bike ride up through the Gorge, or after zooming down it from atop the mendips.
Highly Recommend the Cake of the day and a cup of Joe.

Wow. What a difference a well made pesto and tomato toasted sandwich with local Cheddar cheese makes to your life on a rainy day. Situated next to the river stream, across the main Cheddar town parking and with its own Wishing Well, The Edelweiss Cafe is a little Gem of a Café and a perfect beautiful and peaceful rest stop for the family, romantic couple or solo contemplator.
The freshly made food was delicious (they also has a Vegan Menu and light bites) and the service kind and from the heart (even though they’ve lost tables due to over reactive governmental guidelines on social distancing during the 2020 COVID scare-demic)

Lovely afternoon tea for my husbands birthday they even hot us balloons and the gluten free option was lovely too
