We go to Cheddar Gorge every year (sometimes twice a year) and our first port of call is The Mousehole cafe! The quality of the food is fantastic and a real decent portion too. The staff are always happy, bubbly and positive and ready to help and I would highly recommend a trip to this cafe! I cannot wait to return!

It's surprisingly difficult to get a good scone these days but the one I had here was soft, fresh, fruity and plump. Bloomin lovely. Great tea too. A lovely quiet place to escape the crowds.

Visited here last week. It is a very tidy place and all the staff were very friendly. The food was spot on. I got a ploughman's sandwich which came with plenty of sides on the plate. My partner got a gluten free ham and cheese sandwich which was also beautiful.
The prices were also fair. The atmosphere was friendly.

I was surprised to read that some people weren't happy with the visit here because my visit was pleasant and I will definitely be returning if I go to the area again. I'm glad we chose to eat here .

Doing a gluten free menu is a must for my partner as she has coeliac disease so it's important that where we eat takes care when preparing the food. I can assure everyone we didn't have any problems here so that's worth noting too.

Came here on a bike ride as a group of 3, we parked our bikes behind the cafe which was good. Waitresses were friendly and helpful and we had nice food and drinks (I had bacon and egg sandwiches and hash browns). Service was quick and it was very good value. This is my new favourite cafe in Cheddar!

A beautiful little cafe in the High Street of Cheddar. The service was perfect. The servers were polite and courteous and were pleasant.
The card machine was broken, and we were advised of this as soon as we entered the cafe that it would be cash only.
We ordered out food and drinks and it came out beautifully presented and was quick - even though it was quite busy!
The food was absolutely wonderful, it was worth every calorie!! Will definitely come back again.
The decor was lovely, it was warm inside and felt cosy. Plenty of seating available. Toilets and free wifi available.

Popped in for some tea and coffee (and some milkshakes) with the family. Friendly staff. Lovely decor. Child friendly. Relatively fast service. Definitely recommend if you're visiting Cheddar.

I had my very first cream tea here, and I must say, it’s been absolutely delicious! The scones were nice soft and warm, the cream and the jam were delicious and the tea was lovely! The atmosphere of the place is very welcoming and cozy, whereas the staff is nice and kind!

I definitely recommend this place 😊

Fancied a toasted sandwich for lunch during our lovely little trip to the beautiful cheddar gorge, liked the look of the menu and so decided to pop in and as the sun was shining picked an outside table near a pond.
Went in and ordered our food, we didnt wait long and all our food arrived and was absolutley delicious! We had 2 toasted sandwiches, they came with a salad with a yummy dressing and some tortilla chips. My son had a nutella sandwich.
Couldn't fault the place, staff were warm and welcoming and indoors looked great had the weather turned.
The cakes on display at the counter looked scrummy but we were too full from our lunch.
Highly recommend!

A lovely little cafe with both indoor and outdoor seating. The toilets were nice and clean, which is getting rare lately.
We only had tea and coffee but both were excellent. The staff were friendly too.

This is a great little cafe, first time we visited was around two years ago, and this time we was back in the area we decided to drop in again for a cream tea, the food is top quality and always fresh.

Absolutely lovely cream tea with warm scones! It was so nice that we came back a second time just for the scones. A place like cheddar could really rip you off but the prices are very good.Extra bonus was the loose tea leaves that made a beautiful pot of tea. I even bought a bag of tea leaves to enjoy at home. Well behaved dogs are allowed too so after a cliff walk with the dogs it was just a perfect end to our visit to cheddar!

Clean, well set out, a one way system was in place. Lines for dining in or takeaway were clearly marked, you were shown to a table. They allowed plenty of time to make your selection, food was brought to you and when you wanted to pay, they bought the card machine to you, cash payment was also accepted. There was a range of sandwiches, pasties, cream teas, etc and hot and cold drinks. Nothing fancy but enjoyable.

Our family had a cornish pasties and chips. American pancakes. Cream Tea and a breakfast sandwich, all were delicious 😋
