A stroll through the shops in Alnwick uncovered a unique surprise. Hardy Fishing Store brought back a flood of memories. But first let me say the gentleman I encountered as I entered was very welcoming. I'll definitely return not only for a fly fishing kit and caboodle so to speak but also for the one of kind museum feel of this establishment. As a native Floridian I know hospitality very well and Hardy Fishing Store is a hidden gem. Field and Stream magazine must make a point to cover Northumberland fishing with brown and rainbow trout(North Carolina has learned the value of these rainbow trout too) Spring Salmon are on the menu if I learn from the professionals....anyway you slice it fishing rules in Alnwick thanks to Hardy!

If you like fishing and have deep pockets this place is a must. The museum (free) is well worth a visit.

The Hardy Store and Museum in Alnwick should be on the destination list for every fly-fisher. The museum upstairs is full of artifacts from Hardy's history and is quite interesting while the retail space on the ground floor is very well appointed with the full range of Hardy products in stock. Tim was enthusiastic, knowledgeable, friendly, and went out of his way to provide an excellent experience. Quite simply, all retail establishments should duplicate the customer service modelled by Tim and Steve.

I’ve been looking at purchasing the Ultralite fly rod and after a useful telephone conversation with Tim at the Hardy shop in Alnwick I made the journey across from Cumbria on Saturday. Tim had kindly arranged for me to try the rod on the river opposite Alnwick Castle (with prior permission from the estate). Tim’s knowledge and understanding from my previous conversation allowed him to identify an additional rod, the ultralite X. I was able to cast both rods, which is critical to ensure you are getting the right rod for you. To my surprise the X outperformed the standard ultralite. Absolutely superb service from Tim (as well as the other gentleman in store). I could not fault the genuine service Tim provided and I don’t mind travelling a distance for this type of experience.

Thanks to the staff at the Alnwick Pure fishing for the excellent service I received. I broke my rod, phoned them, sent back broken part, model could not be suppled, was offered a replacement, which arrived within 3 days, Thank you.

Very helpful staff who gave me the right kind of advice not just buy this rod because it's the most expensive but buy this rod because it's actually the one your going to use and it's what you need.

Lost Grey’s badge cover/dust cap on back of my Stream Lite 2/3 reel. Phoned Pure Fishing in hope they might have one, yep said they would pop one in the post. 4 days later 2 arrived in post. Can’t praise Pure Fishing enough for their excellent customer service.

Snapped my Demon spinning rod and Hardy could no longer supply replacement section. So they sent a replacement rod instead, top class customer service!

Very helpful when I had a recent enquiry about my palakona fly rod tip I had broken and they gave me two options to consider, but with a research I have found a great locking section model which I now need protection plugs for 5/16 and 3/16”

bought a greys prodigy shelter brolly what great bit of kit
very well made and a angler designed it if there is a fault the storm poles it comes with could be at least
4inches longer so you can get them in the ground enough so as to make them steady when it is windy
otherwise i cant fault it

I have had a couple of issues with (almost heart-breaking) accidental damage to rod sections recently. Graham has been brilliant at resolving them quickly and efficiently.
