Popped in for lunch today.. My sorta pub, clean n tidy, well set out, good music and lovely staff. Good selection and variety on the menu and the best prawn cocktail and pie n mash that I've had in a very long time.. Great value for money as well.. Also Walshy, a friend of both of ours says hello to ya... Once again thank you so much.. Gt

Stayed here for a couple nights recently, for the second time. Great pub, fantastic food and staff, lovely comfortable beds and rooms, very quiet at night, what's not to like ?? Highly recommended !
Photos are Calamari with a sweet chilli dip, and an excellent crab salad, yum !!

Wow, what an amazing find. The room was fantastic huge bed and soooooo comfy. The towels so big and fluffy... room was so warm great that you can turn the radiators up and down and open the sash windows to get the temperature you want. Toiletries provided were excellent too. A great selection of teas too. Evening food and service amazing and so too was the breakfast and Sunday lunch was so tasty and great selection. Everyone was so friendly and helpful. Was a fantastic 2 night stay. We will definitely be back next time we're in the area.

Had a fantastic stay at The New Inn. We were visiting Rye but Winchelsea is just outside and it's better for parking and better for having the New Inn! Paul and Debs the owners are really nice and Millie made us feel so welcome we will definitely stay again. The rooms are nice and the bed was super comfortable. Foodwise, breakfast was great and the meal we had in the restaurant was absolutely 💯 👌 we all had the specials created by the new chef Morgan and they were imaginative and delicious. The beer garden is fab too it's like a secret garden. Definitely recommended.

Stayed just for 1 night, lovely Pub with rooms. Had the steak for our evening meal which was delicious and generous portions. Room was lovely almost a suite with separate full Bathroom which was great. Loved the quirkiness of it, especially when we were advised that a double decker bus goes past every hour so keep the blinds shut! Great attention to detail. Room well equipped with high end toiletries, tea tray and biscuits, what’s not to like. Overall lovely stay, Paul, Debbie and team work very hard to make you welcome and comfortable. Breakfast was good a great selection of traditional eats and some quirky additions. Thank you your hard work is definitely paying off.

Stopped in en route to elsewhere for lunch. The sandwiches were excellent, the beer very good. Steak and kidney pudding good meat, spoiled by doughy pudding, far from fluffy. However, the Landlord and the bar staff were friendly and warm. Would come again, but would choose a different main course.

Been here quite a few times over the past 30 odd years. Obviously, the owner's have changed during this time, and the present ones are still doing a valiant job... Last visited early August 2021, for my daughter's birthday lunch. Food was fantastic, as was the service. I'd prearranged for a small birthday cake to be brought out and they happily obliged... Will gladly return at some stage again soon...!!

Yesterday, we arrived at this awesome pub The New Inn, Winchelsea for lunch. The staff sat us at a table in the window area and took our drinks order and soon after took our order for food offering a nice menu plus board specials. Lovely fresh sandwiches all came with a generous salad. We had two little ones who enjoyed a good sized cheesy pasta dish, little Sienna sat in their excellent high chair. This great place was a lovely clean and well staffed pub and overlooked a brilliant church grounds where Spike Milligan rested.
We shall definitely be back for an evening meal.
Thank you Emrys Skye

We had a great meal here. The garden was well spaced out for social distancing. Two of our party chose sharing starters as mains and this was dealt with efficiently. We asked for a special side of garlic mayo that was made to order. They were busy but we were advised of the wait time at the outset. Friendly staff and delicious food.

This summer we stayed in Camber and came to this pub two times. Amazingly good food with such a passion for cooking and the beer garden was very relaxing to be with kids. Thank you very much!

Had a brilliant meal here with family for Mother's Day. Roast dinners with beef still on bone, as was the lamb, which melted in the mouth. Large portions - only complaint was too full to try the tasty looking deserts! Could not fault food, service (with a smile!) and venue. Can't wait to go back to try rest of menu!
Food can easily be compared to a top restaurant! Top marks to the chef(s)!

You cannot imagine a better place to come in thirsty, hungry and tired after walking through the charming landscape.

Even being gluten- and dairy-free troublemakers, the New-Inners welcome you and adapt the food to be safe for you.

Thanks so much!

An absolute gem of a pub. Great beer and fantastic food. The most beautiful garden and the friendliest of staff. Well worth a visit and everyone should do Winchelsea at least once in their lives, we get to go at least once a week.
