The Botanist Chester

Great place to eat and drink. Lively and good atmosphere. The food was fantastic, I had the crispy chicken burger with loaded fries, and it was full of flavour and 2 big pieces of actual chicken. Good selection of drinks and cocktails. Service was friendly and quick.

Having researched dog friendly places to visit during our stay in Chester, came across this place. Visited on a Thursday night and had dinner in the bar area which is dog friendly. Had a great acoustic guitar player providing entertainment, great atmosphere and the food was excellent. Opted for the sharing kebab which came with 3 hanging tiers of chicken, lamb and prawns. Could have done with extra bread but that was the only downside. Very ornate decor, perfectly in keeping with the Chester vibe. A must go to anyone visiting!

Can't believe I've not been here before! Such a quirky little place.
Each member of staff were so welcoming upon arrival. Booking system was easy to use.
The cocktails were amazing! And as for the food...WOW!!
We had 2 alcoholic drinks, 2 hanging kebabs and a side of haloumi fries and the bill was just over £50. Great value for the quality of food!!
We will definatly be visiting again.
I also had a lovely surprise to have recieved a complimentary drink as my husband mentioned to one of the staff it was my birthday. Thanks Botanist ❤

The food here is insane! I ordered the burger, but it is honestly no ordinary burger, wow!
I find so many foods bland, but this was a taste sensation!
Our waitress was lovely! Super helpful and to hand if we needed anything!
I have already organised three different return trips with friends! Loved it!

Our 1st visit to Chester. Googled and found this little gem! Wonderful Sunday roast! The calamari is so soft and tender. Lovely peas and prosciutto soup! The dinner was just fantastic 😍

Impressive restaurant. Decor, music, atmosphere and staff are brilliant. Food most importantly is exceptional. We had the sharing kebab which was plenty between the two of us. The meat was cooked perfectly, extremely tender and flavourful, the sauces they came with were all matched very well. Chips are crispy and fluffy on the inside as they should be! Definitely recommend

Visited for lunch whilst in Chester for the day. Staff were very polite, friendly and attentive. Brought water for our dogs as we sat at a table before we could ask. Gave space and time to settle and then went through the menu and options. My wife suffers a number of food intolerances we asked about a dish and its contents the waitress wasn’t entirely sure. So went and asked the chefs. They offered a special one off dish based on the one we asked about for my wife which we gladly agreed on. Both meals were fresh, well cooked, well presented and delicious. The service provided was definitely beyond the extra mile. The drinks were also spot on. A great experience and not our first or our last.

It is a very rustic and cozy restaurant serving some top quality food. The staff was really friendly. We were taken care of by Hannah who was very kind and friendly.
We had calamari fries, crispy mushrooms, fish and chips, lamb kofta, Halloumi fries. Everything was delicious and worth every penny. I will definitely visit this place again.

My daughter chose The Botanist Chester for her 18th Birthday lunch with quiet a number of us and it was most definitely the best choice.
The whole experience was outstanding before we went, during and after.
We used the pre ordering process as we were a large number of people and a number of different restrictions due to allergies, health conditions and preferences and it went seamlessly.
I can not recommend the venue enough, the waiting staff were friendly and attentive and were exceptionally busy throughout the time we were there.
The food and cocktails were absolutely top quality.
Value for money is always a big deal breaker for myself and as this was a special occasion I was prepared to be a little more extravagant but with the food, drinks, atmosphere and quality of service the money paid was more than worth it.

The food drinks and services was truly amazing, first time ever eating here and was doing a group booking for a work social so there was alot of pressure. But honestly the whole process was amazing the food was wonderful and the drinks were delicious and the staff was absolutely incredible thank you so much for a wonderful night. Will definitely be going here again.

This was an absolutely wonderful experience for my mum's 70th celebration. Our waitress Hayley was exceptional - she decorated the table with bunting and banners, unasked, then brought birthday cake, sang happy birthday, and to top it all off, deducted the wine from the bill - all unprompted! Meal was really delicious, service unparalleled - I can't recommend this place highly enough. Well done Botanist, you smashed it!

Had a great time what made.it for me was how nice and friendly and helpful the staff were. Nothing was a problem and they are genuinely very nice. We stayed fro drinks , had champagne and cocktails, live band playing music we like it was great atmosphere

The food was very good and really tasty. We went for my sister's 40th birthday and as a kind gesture, my sister was given a free drink! Lovely place and would definitely go back.

Ordered 2 vegetarian roasts they were so delicious. The pastry is very filling and veg is tasty. Plenty of side veg and gravy too. Starters were lovely; hummus and cauliflower buffalo bites. Can’t comment on dessert as we were too full from the main to order any!
We were seated immediately, we booked in advance which I’d recommend as they were busy. Staff attentive. Service was good

We had the vegan sharing board and it was very nice, full of flavour and lots of choice.
The cocktails were nice too, went down a bit too easy 😆
We will definitely be back next time we are in Chester.

Such a nice dinner… we’d just got engaged and my mum had rang up to tell them… the girls serving us were SO SO lovely … I’m also 36 weeks pregnant so rather than champagne they offered me a mocktail and my partner a drink of his choice!
Food was great and everyone was happy to help!
