Taf Bargoed Community Park

A beautiful place to go, even on a rainy day. Even did a bit of art in the shelter, inspired by nature and the beautiful colours of the season at the park. So peaceful there too.

Lovely place to visit for a walk around the lake. Gorgeous views and wildlife to see.

A lovely spot for a walk along the banks of the lake and admire the trees and wildlife. One side of the lake has a tarmac path and is easily accessible for wheelchair users, cross the bridge and the path is made of gravel, easy to walk but might only be suitable for the most rugged wheelchair.
It is remarkable that in the early 90's this was a colliery.

Top spot for a happy dog walk around the pond=] Plenty of parking in the mornings, even has a friendly kiosk selling beverages and snacks to the hungry. Never believe it used to be the site of Taff Merthyr colliery. You can extend your walk towards Bedlinog and the climbing centre if so inclined past the reed beds treating the water going into the lake. Enjoy=]

Went here just to sit and relax and take time for me to have me time it was lovely and quiet as it was in school time was lovely just watching the world go by.

Beautiful area, hard to by it was once a colliery site.

Good car park. Nice walk along the river with plenty of wild life and seats. It leads to the main building and climbing centre. Enjoy.

What a fabulous facility, the walk around the river is superb. The paths are well maintained, and the area is clean and tidy.
The wildlife is a sight to see, there's a wide variety of birds, many with young at the moment.
There are a couple of coffee shops, and plenty of free parking.
I should imagine this gets really busy when the sun's out, but at the moment it's just delightful.

Great little piece of nature here - If your into birdwatching, like me you should check this out.

I counted 35 species after several visits, during a two week period.

These include, ducks, swans, geese, wagtails, grebes, moorhens, dippers, jays, goldcrests, creepers, thrushes, woodpeckers, gulls, herons, & cormorants.

Birds of prey such as buzzards, red kites and sparrow hawks.

Absolutely stunning place to go for a relaxing walk it has toilets on site which are kept pretty clean and the wildlife is fascinating for those who like to take beautiful pictures

Relaxing place to walk and watch the wildlife. Great to see the swans sitting again near the waters edge sitting on their eggs. Love the place.

Every day I walk with my dog Rosie over here . Always something to see.@

Beautiful area lovely for solo, family or dag walks 🥰

For a gentle stroll or a decent jog, this is the place to go. Park benches for a picnic or feed the wildlife just lovely. You can watch the Red Kites overhead or the Heron in the water waiting to swoop on the fish.

A beautiful River, a stunning Lake (even fly fishing) a nice place to walk the dog. A little oasis in this over industrialised world. A pity polluting cars are allowed to drive along the path. Why can't people get out and walk.

Car parking available. FREE to park. Toilets on site and cafe for food and drinks. Opening hours of cafe vary due to weather and the number of people on site. Good walking area all year round to see the wildlfe. I would recommend this area.

Go there every day to walk my dog. Great to clear the mind.

Great place for a stroll with the dog
