This is a spectacular site to visit, just a short walk from St Govan's parking area where St Govan's Chapel is located. Make sure the access road is open on the day you visit by searching for Castlemartin Firing Notice, as it's located within a military training range.

Huntsman's Leap is a sheer, narrow gash in the limestone cliffs where it's fabled that a huntsman leapt across the chasm on his horse. On looking back where he'd crossed, he immediately died of fright. At it's narrowest, the cliffs are separated by around three metres - tempting, but don't ! The banks either side are quite sloped, so take care if you approach nearby to take look.

It's a popular place for climbers which we saw when we walked nearby around the leap. Terrifying drop, but an exciting place for the experienced to clamber on. Well worth a visit by combining the walk with the Chapel.

The alleged story is a huntsman made this jump on a horse, when he turned back and looked at what he’d accomplished he died of shock. 🤷🏽‍♂ 🐎 - That’s where the name comes from apparently.
I saw this place randomly on Google and my curiosity took the better of me. I wanted to make the leap but was very anxious and nervous but with my wife next to me too, it wasn’t made any easier. The leap is not as easy as it looks, if I had 9 lives I’d of done it, but it’s not as easy or as flat as you imagine. It’s quite rocky with no platform. It is doable, however 1 slip and you’ve had it. 💀.
Parking is free. This area is a military shooting ground, make sure you check if the military are training before you make your journey. Not far from there (walking distance) is St Govans Chapel which is a beautiful location for some great pictures and opportunities to make your way right down to the water. Both great spots. 100% Highly recommended, you won’t be disappointed.

Stunning panoramic sea views with a couple of nice points of interest to check out - this cliff gap and the nearby Saint Govan's Chapel in the cliffside.

The car park is close - around 5 minutes walk away over flat ground.

The huntsman's leap is a great nature sculpture. Short walk from the nearby car park with easy terrain, this is a wonderful scene not to be missed. There's a cove just a little east of huntsman's leap that offers stunning beauty as well.

Nice views and scenery. Keep dogs on leads and children close as can easily fall from cliff. Also near here is a hidden blow hole, looks like a hole in the ground but you can hear the sea at the bottom!

First time I've climbed in the leap. Did the classic beast from the undergrowth. Such a class climbing venue. Will be back for more

Great walk and fantastic views. Be aware sometimes it might not be accessible due to the military price range near by

Didn't jump. It might be possible with assistance. But it is no fun this.

You can find this by parking in the same car park as St Govan’s Chapel. About a 10/15 minute walk. Few old tanks from the Artillery range can be seen along the way.

I'm not brave enough to do the leap. But it is spectacular.
