It's a remarkable piece of history.
A beautiful chapel built in to the side of a cliff, there's some quite steep down to the chapel so it isn't for everyone. But once you are there, it's amazing to see.
Would highly recommend a visit.

Loved, loved, loved coming here. There is plenty of space to park. The trail head starts at the top (with a lovely sign to show the way). Walk down the stairs to the chapel and explore a bit further out if you'd like! There is a legend that the number of steps is never the same (up versus down) - I counted 52 personally but apparently forgot if it matched going back up.

You do have to check if the area is open to the public as it passes through an MOD army tank range and there is a number to call to find out.

Beautiful place, and well worth the visit. Short walk from the carpark, down some steps to the Chapel. Once past the Chapel it's very rocky but good fun if you can work your way over them to get closer to the sea!

Free parking and an ice cream van.

It was a little cold and blustery to explore St Govens but on reflection, it might have just be the best time! I had it all to myself to explore and listen to the wind whistling through the cliffs and the sea hitting the rocks below. Somebody had lit a candle which made the atmosphere feel just that little bit more eerie.

It’s only a short walk down to the Chapel from the (free) car park down a number of steepish steps, something to consider if it’s wet, blowing a gale and you have small children. It’s not too odorous and well worth the visit.

The sites located on MOD firing range and there looks to be restrictions depending on when you visit. It might be worth checking before hand to avoid any disappointment.

Car park very close to the chapel, although steep steps as expected the short walk is worth it. Great views from the other side, also on the Pembrokeshire costal walk if you wanted to stroll before or after the chapel view.

The journey down the cliffside steps is a bit of an adventure and definitely sets the mood for a unique visit. The chapel itself is quite modest, but its simplicity is what makes it so special. You can feel the history seeping through the stone walls.

I was blown away by the incredible views of the sea from the chapel—it's the perfect spot for some quiet reflection or just to soak in the natural beauty of the area. It's amazing to think about St. Govan living here centuries ago.

Excellent attraction, a little off the beaten track, but well worth a visit. No charge for parking, and easily accessible via the steps down from the top.

Worth a walk along the top of the cliffs from here as well, as the views are very dramatic.

On my bucket list, visited it. Very special place. Free car park at top. Short 2 min walk to top of stairs. Looks like could be slippery when wet. Handrail to use. Steps go down into Chapel. 2 Chambers. Door out into cove. Tide on way out for an hour from high tide. Reasonable busy 11am Monday in august. Cafe on way back at Bosherston. Toilets in Bosherston car park. Well worth a visit. We'll signposted.

Absolutely beautiful and quiet place. It's a small chapel tucked into the cliff. It has 2 small chambers which is narrow and dark. The chapel is signposted and located at the bottom of the cliff. There are some steep steps built which are useful and also a handrail is there for safety. It's famous for its location and view from the top is amazing. There is a small car park nearby which is free.
Definitely the best place to visit in Pembrokeshire.

Quite a walk to get to the Chapel, but totally worth it. Stunning location nestled in rhe cliffs overlooking a tiny rocky bay.

Peaceful with amazingly clear and beautiful waters at the base.
The spectacular building is easily accessible for fit and able bodied visitors but the stairs and steep accent and decent needs to be given for thought and consideration.

This is such a special little place that I remember clearly from my childhood. It’s a unique space and free to visit. Be aware that the steps are slippery as the grips have worn away in places so make sure you hold onto the rails. The beach below is made up of huge boulders so it is quite a scramble to get down to the water. The tide was in so we couldn’t see much, but I remember that there were some staggering rock pools when the water receded.

What a Hidden Gem!
Mike I and the dogs really enjoyed this visit.
Stunning scenery, beautiful beach, and the Chapel built into the Cliff is just mind blowing.
How it was carved and constructed in such a place all them years ago.
I Believe the Chapel was built of limestone and is 18ft by 12ft .
The roof is vaulted.
The Chapel dates back to the 13th Century, and may well have been founded as early as the 6th Century by St Govans followers .
The well inside ( now dried up ) was said to have healing properties for conditions such as eye complaints, Rheumatism, and skin diseases.
And the Saints Holy Well outside.
Whilst there we was very lucky to see some 🦭in the rock pool below the Chapel.
The steps are quite steep and there is a hand rail down to the chapel.
The steps are quite slippy and some have grip tape on them, suitable shoes is a really good idea for this visit.
The dogs was carried down due to steep conditions.
Really good sized car park with free parking.
You can take you’re dogs.
It is advised you keep dogs on leads, due to the terrain and cliff drops.
There was toilets approximately a 5 minute drive from the Chapel where you can get onto the beach Bosherton.
This car park you have to pay.
On the drive to the Chapel there is some cafes to get refreshments.
Well worth a visit.

An absolutely, amazing place to visit. The stairs down are steep, so take your time, but the views are worth it. The chapel is a sight worth seeing, just a wonderful little Chapel steeped in history. There is plenty of parking for cars and coaches, the parking is also free so a nice bonus.

This quaint Chapel is located just a short distance along the path from the carpark at the top of the headland and down 70+ steps. There are plenty of free parking spaces here, but make sure to search for and check the Castlemartin Firing Notice to ensure the access road is open to the public and there's no military activity on the day.

You can get a stunning view either side of the Chapel from the clifftops above before you head down the steps. Look out for the rare Chuffs with their orange beaks and feet that reside around this location too. We saw quite a few as we walked around.

As you arrive at the Chapel, look out for the large Bell Rock situated alongside the hermitage. You can read about it's fabled history on the notices found inside the building. Lovely views from both the window inside as well as from the small cove below. St Govan's Well can be found half way down to the shore.

After touring here, don't miss out on another spectacular site just a third of a mile away, West along the coastal path - Huntsman's Leap. We'd highly recommend spending the day around this beautiful area of the Pembrokeshire coast.

Awe inspiring place! Beautiful location. What an amazing place to visit. I would recommend everyone to visit this site. There’s not many places in the world as unusual as this - and it’s free!
Go there - you won’t be disappointed.
On a practical note - it’s best to check ahead that it’s open, as you have to drive through military land to get there. Also take must be taken at the site because the steps leading down to the chapel can be slippery. Well worth it though.
