Outer Reef Surf School

I recently completed the Surf Lifeguard Rescue and ISA Surf Instructor Course with Tom, and I must say he is an exceptional teacher. His ability to keep us engaged with the course work and practical sessions was impressive. Tom's thoroughness in the surf practicals and his valuable tips for improving my surfing skills were instrumental in my progress. I am grateful to Tom for pushing me to become a better surfer and coach. Thank you! 🤙🏽🌊🌊🌊💜

This is the second session we have done with Outer Reef - which speaks for itself. The staff were great, the process simple, the kit we hired was ideal, the instruction was first class and the instructor was brilliant with all of us, from children to adults over 50. Not only did we all improve but we all had a great time, from beginners to improvers, and we all left knowing what to do next on our surfing journey. They were awesome, I would certainly go with them again.

We had the most wonderful time during our paddle boarding lesson. The location was idyllic, the instructors were brilliant and the whole experience was simply perfect. I was a bit nervous but the instructors instantly put me at ease.
I cannot recommend this company enough. Booking was very easy and they are always trying to make your experience the best they possibly can. Instructors are clearly very experienced and enthusiastic. Our children absolutely loved it! This activity made our trip to Pembrokeshire and we can’t wait to do it again. An absolute MUST when visiting this beautiful place.

It was my partner's birthday so we thought why not, he went paddle boarding and I did kayaking. The two instructors we had were fantastic and very professional but also knew how to have fun. I would definitely recommend and a enjoyable way of spending two hours with exercise.

We weren’t that keen to go surfing in March, the waters cold and rain was forecast.
We had nothing to worry about. Dean was brilliant and so enthusiastic, the wet suits, Boots, and gloves kept us all warm and the warm equipment was brilliant for beginner surfers. it was such a fun experience, very Exhilarating and wonderful to be in such a beautiful sea in Pembrokeshire. Right from the word go through booking with Jenny and Simon who helped out with the surfing it was a very positive experience. All 10 of us agreed we will book again with Outer Reef.

Had a paddle boarding lesson with Sabrina and Ben at Stackpole. They supplied all the kit you needed i.e. suits, shoes, paddle and board. The instructors were very informative and gave great advice. The lesson started with a safety input, progressing from how to get on and off the board, to kneeling and standing. We paddleboarded to Barafundle beach, exploring the cliffs on the way. A great lesson fun and I would definitely recommend.

What a lovely introduction to paddle boarding today !! Weather at Stackpole Quay was raining and rather windy so quite a challenging experience. Everyone fell off numerous times but it did not dampen our spirits. Tom our instructor was excellent and full of humour, shouting wipeout when people hit the water. Most of us ended our experience by jumping off the Quay. Thank you Tom for a fun few hours and I would highly recommend.

Amazing shop and brilliant staff. We came for Winter surfing, they gave us brand new winter wetsuits to hire, as the normal hire ones weren’t quite dry and so took them straight off the peg for us. Then gave us loads of recommendations of where to go and advice. Could not have been a better and more friendly service and can’t recommend them enough! Will definitely use again when back near freshwater!

Initially rang Outer Reef to enquire about hiring a kayak and was greeted by Tom who was very polite and energetic, he advised us the conditions may not be ideal for kayaking and since we have already booked the trip he offered some brilliant alternatives to make the most out of our trip. I went for a surf lesson with Tom and did not expect to enjoy it as much as I did. We had an amazing time and Tom was such a relaxed and helpful teacher who just made the entire morning even more fun. By the end of the lesson we had learned how to stand on the board to ride waves which was a thrill. To add to my surprise It was the middle of February yet we didn’t feel the cold in the slightest thanks to the high quality wet suits, gloves and shoes.
Will definitely be doing this again later in the summer

I did the ISA Level 1 and ILS Surfcoach rescue course with Outer Reef. I can say that it was a super great week, you could learn a lot, and the instructors have a lot of knowledge and pass it on very well. The fun is not neglected, either. It was simply a great week of training!

The team were amazing from start to end ......I was very anxious before we started , however the team looked after me and put my mind at rest .....any my gear was locked away safely, look forward to getting back out on the water 💦

Second lesson with Outer Reef Surf School, my husband had a fantastic time and is about to book his third lesson! Definitely recommend!

I would highly recommend Outer Reef Surf School. The instructors are very knowledgeable & skilled at their craft. The groups I've attended have been welcoming, multi generational, reasonably priced and most importantly fun.

I did both my ISA surf instructor level one and the beach lifeguard course with Outer Reef and both course were so fun and relaxed. Nothing was over complicated so I really felt like I learned everything very quickly.

Did the ISA Level 1 and ILS Course with Tom from Outer Reef in Andalucia - was pretty fun, had a really great time and learned a lot! Highly recommend 🫶🏽 thanks for the great experience and education!

My sister and I had an amazing time paddle boarding with outer reef surf school on north beach in Tenby! Would highly recommend. Great value and all they want is for you to have a good time, which we defiantly did! We will be having another session before we leave! Amazing!

Great SUP lesson with this group who are super focussed on safety as well as fun. Even renting a board they asked us to delay until the afternoon for better conditions!

Firstly just wanted to say a big thank you to yourselves and also to Lauren for my lessons last week - im already craving to get back into the water aft two incredible days where at the end I was standing up on my board and riding the odd waves in here and there.

Lauren was awesome, really patient and offered great tips and encouragement that enabled me to progress really quickly and conquer a very real fear of the sea and surfing in it.

Cannot recommend Outer Reef enough, really enjoyed my experience and developed really quickly.
