It's a 'proper pub', a little tired looking inside but don't let that put you off. The whole family had a really lovely meal and the atmosphere was very friendly. I had a delicious and filling homemade chicken curry with rice and chips and the family had fish cakes and chicken wraps between them. Prices ranged from £11.50 for the wraps to £15.50 for the curry.

Pubs have had some of the best food we have had here in Wales. And the Royal George did not dissapoint at all. Typical pub atmosphere with locals coming in for a pint, folks joking with others... but the food. It was something special.

My wife thought the stroganoff was about the best she has had, my son polished off the curry and wanted more. I had the burger... it was great. It wasn't just a frozen burger thrown on the grill... it was fresh and wonderful.

Sticky toffee pudding was absolutely incredible. My son said it was the best he has ever had, my wife and I both agreed the custard was by far the best, and the pudding was a very slight second place... in any case, an absolute winner.

I only got one picture. It smelled so good that the family was well into eating before I could even get the camera out.

Would definitely return!!!

We popped into The Royal George while visiting West Wales from Australia, and it was a fantastic experience. The food was delicious, and the atmosphere was just amazing. We felt so welcome by the owners, Phil and Ian, who put their heart and soul into making the pub a warm and inviting place.

Big shoutout to the bar staff! Tim (with the luscious locks!) and Honey were both ever so friendly and damn attentive! They really added to and made the overall experience.

Honestly, this pub is a gem! I can't recommend it highly enough. Anyone and everyone visiting Pembroke should definitely check it out!

A very friendly traditional pub where we were made very welcome. The bar staff were great and the locals friendly, even the dog was made a fuss of. Great place to watch the Rugby too. Didn't get to eat there but food being served around us looked great. All in all a great experience, especially for my partner who had left the area 50 years ago. We'll definitely visit again when we're next in the area!

Very good food. Not too salty. My son loved his chicken burger. My wife the chicken and leek mashed potatoes dish. Homemade French fries and friendly service... ...and very close to the Castle!

Friendly pub, amazing food. We popped in for some lunch not knowing what to expect and we are so glad we did. Amazing menu with lots of tasty choices, we all had something different and all four of us really enjoyed it. Would definitely return if we are ever in the area again!

Brillant pub from an Australian. Foods great, with spectacular men behind the bar. Locals will make anyone feel welcome. Pet friendly which just adds a brillant atmosphere and more friends. Foods worth more than it is and homemade, not a single thing fronzen!

Ps. If you are from Australia be prepared to get some flack (Dai I'm talking to you) but give a little bite back and all is laughs, its great. Couldn't recommend it enough!

We thoroughly enjoyed our sausages and mash with lots of absolutely delicious onion gravy, this was followed by a big dish of the very best fruit crumble with custard we have ever tasted. A very well stocked bar and we found all the staff to be very welcoming and the service was exceptionally good, we will definitely go back for another meal the next time we are in Pembroke. Highly recommended a little gem not to be missed.

This is a very friendly small pub by the castle. The beer was fresh, the food was awesome and the locals were friendly. I'd go back here in a heartbeat.

Fantastic meal. The guy behind the bar was really nice and helpful (didn't get a name) and the food was amazing. Good portion sizes and fairly priced. I had the soup of the day and mushroom stroganoff (both amazing) and my friend had the burger.

Brilliant food - good solid homemade grub that fills you up and tastes like grandma cooked. Lots of clean plates in our family. Oh, and the beer was excellent as well.

Dog friendly and lovely staff.

A lovely place, it offers a hearty variety of food whether you fancy a classic pub meal, something spicy or want a vegetarian option.

The chips are deliciously crispy, with the food following suit and being a delight to eat (I recommend the all day brunch).

The staff are lovely not only welcoming us in but also helped our dog settle in by giving her some ham.

In short, a great place to stop after a nice day out and about, with nice food, staff and atmosphere.

We visited this pub last week for lunch. Lovely location - really close to Pembroke Castle and Mill Pond. The highlight for me, dare I say, was their chicken curry. Most delicious of any curries I’ve eaten at a pub/restaurant in a while! I was pleasantly surprised. Just the right blend of flavours, not super spicy, simply divine. We also tried their chilli con carne and fish cakes which were just as delightful. They had a good selection of beers, service was quick and the staff was lovely. Can’t fault them for anything, really :) The pub is also dog-friendly, which was a huge plus and the main reason we initially selected it for lunch as we were travelling with our dog. The lovely man by the bar fussed over our dog and also gave him some dog treats that were gladly received. All in all, I’d highly recommend Royal George if you’re in Pembroke.

A really good diverse menu. Everything freshly cooked.
The choices for meat or non meat eaters is very good.
The beer is very reasonable for someone used to paying Bath prices.
The puddings are proper old school.

Excellent atmosphere.
We will be back before heading home.
