Great food, great atmosphere, turn up early if you want Sunday roast, it gets busy and I don't believe you can make a reservation, however if you do miss out on the roast there are other options available from the menu and specials board so you won't go hungry.

We booked last minute to have lunch here with a friend, whom we had not seen since September 2019! The lunch was excellent, chosen from a wide-ranging regular menu as well as a 'Specials' board. The generous portions meant that we couldn't manage any of the delicious-sounding desserts, just coffee! Attentive but non-intrusive staff - we were here for well over two hours! A thoroughly enjoyable experience. Thank you The Knowle Inn

We drove past on our holiday and loved the flowers outside and just how pretty it looked so a couple of days later we popped in for lunch. The menu is pretty much the standard pub affair but the food is delicious and the staff helpful and polite 😋

Went here for dinner on a Monday night with my daughter and husband . Very good menu and a great selection of specials all at excellent prices. The meals are all substantial, we couldn't have three courses as we were too full after starter and mains. When we go again we won't have starter so we can have one of there delicious sounding desserts. Lovely Quirky pub inside with Good Parking and a nice outside seating area. Well worth a visit, we will go again when in area next.

Driven past many times in the past 30 years without stopping here. I hadn't realised what I have been missing. We had a great light lunch in the beer garden, baguettes superb value and good quality. Good pint of Butcombe. Totally recommend and we will visit again.

Passed by today as fire service were putting out the fire that has engulfed & destroyed this once beautiful inn. My heart, thoughts & prayers go out to the owners, residents & staff here. I pray that everyone is safe & well.
I pray that any loss anyone suffers is minimal. I wish you all good health moving forward.

Lots of great choice in food. Very generous portions and all freshly cooked. Specials to lighter bites. Great choice on drinks. Pub 300 years old, 2 bars and restaurant. Great for a drink, meal and family get togethers. Plenty of parking.

What a great little place! The service is always friendly, the food has never disappointed and you can always get parked(in rear car park). The staff are cheery and welcoming, they really make you feel at home. It's only a small place but it's quality not quantity! Never had a bad experience here. You should see the garden out back, in the summer it is just wonderful with lots of places to sit admiring the flowers and greenery, plus the elevated position gives gorgeous views, one of the best beer gardens around I'd say. Inside there's a roaring open fire for those chillier nights too...lovely!

Good for a quiet midweek evening drink - really pleasant sitting inside or in the beer garden. Plenty of parking at the back, though no wheelchair access from that car park, but limited parking on front gives you good access. Nice range of drinks, friendly staff and good service.

Stopped off on our way home from Weymouth for lunch. Hubby and I had a sandwich each and it came with chips and salad. Very fresh and delicious. Nice staff, very attentive. X

Traditional country pub conveniently positioned on the A39 just a mile or so from junction 23 on the M5. Cracking pint of Otter and welcoming staff. I didn't eat but plenty were and the food looked very good. Open all day which is a bonus. :-)

Popped in for lunch as a diversion from a slow motorway drive, food turned up remarkably quickly, was really good, and great sized portions. We'll certainly be returning.

The wife and I called in on our way home from Plymouth, and as soon as we walked in we were welcomed by the barman and I had a great pint of otters ale and the wife had her usual tonic water. We then looked at the menu and the specials board and the wife had beef bourgnion and I had a mixed grill and I can honestly say that the food was super. We went home stuffed, and we would certainly go back.
