Just returned from our stay at The Burgoyne and it was fantastic. Really enjoyed the stay.

We was welcomed by Simon the General Manager who showed us around the place and helped us with our luggage to our room.

We stayed in the Ivelet room which was spacious, clean and had everything we needed. The bathroom was amazing!

On the evening we was greeted by Renee who was lovely and explained the wines they have on offer and provided some recommendations.

Food was great, well presented and came out with hardly a wait at all.

Georgia too was great and ran the whole evening and morning operation perfectly.

From checking in with Seth to checking out with Christine our stay at The Burgoyne was 5 star. We stayed in the ‘Muker’ suite that was on the top floor with fantastic views of the green and surrounding hills. The Suite was beautifully decorated with lovely finishing touches. The bathroom immaculately clean and spacious with nice ‘Noble and Isle’ products at our disposal.

We had late afternoon drinks in the sunshine at the front of the hotel overlooking the green before sitting down to an exquisite evening meal. Rounding off our first night with a nightcap in the lounge. Catherine our waitress couldn’t do enough for us.

The breakfast that was included in our package was a nice start to the day of hiking, filling up on poached eggs and ham.

We decided to opt for a late Sunday lunch rather than an evening meal as we had heard that it would be good and so glad we did as it was one of the best we’d ever had.

The staff here go above and beyond to make sure your stay is exactly as it should be.

I would most definitely stay here again and would recommend to anybody.

What a place!

Hotel was wonderful, staff were so friendly and helpful, the decor is beautiful, it’s been very well put together. Had dinner at the hotel and the food was incredible. We enjoyed the Stilton mousse, golden beetroot risotto, stone bass, white chocolate mousse and the passionfruit tart with a bottle of Malbec. Could not fault it.

Rooms were clean and tidy, with everything you could need.

The village was quaint and idyllic.

Will be back to visit.

Wat a wonderful place. Great location for walks and site seeing. Food excellent. Breakfast was a good start to the day, Sunday lunch was one of the best I have had in a long time, Evening meal was great local produce and very tasty.
The only let down, that didn't hamper us, was they were short staffed but isn't everyone at the moment! but the staff that were there worked their socks off to give us the best stay.

Outstanding restaurant, very warm friendly service and the room was stunning with equally breathtaking views of the dales, possibly the biggest and most comfortable bed I've ever slept in, bathroom was huge with a stand alone bath and a walk in shower. Probably bigger than you can imagine.. very peaceful night's sleep absolutely first class breakfast with the best tasting black pudding I've ever had.. type of place you don't want to leave to be honest.. enjoyed relaxing in the lounge before our meal, and the food in the restaurant was about as good as it gets..
We stayed in the ivelet suite.. highly recommended go ahead treat yourself.

We were warmly welcomed on our weekend break and given a tour of the hotel. Our room was spacious and very comfortable. We woke up to a breathtaking view of The Dales and enjoyed a high quality breakfast. Later we enjoyed a beautifully served tasty evening meal.
We would highly recommend staying at this homely, well situated hotel.

This place needs 10 stars never mind 5. The food was outstanding the staff were exceptional. Total fluke that we ended up here but they say everything happens for a reason and this absolutely made our last night in Yorkshire will definitely be back. If you like good quality fresh food make sure you stop here.

We had such a relaxing luxurious stay at The Burgoyne. Lovely, friendly staff and the most amazing food!!! Definitely the best spot in Reeth. Couldn't find fault with anything. Highly recommend this hotel.

We are long-term visitors of The Burgoyne, nearly twenty years of annual visits. It has changed ownership three times in this period, and to some extent ambience, but the basic character has remained the same. You can expect beautiful scenery; wild North Yorkshire moors, very changeable weather, plenty of places to visit in radius of 20 miles. The hotel is a great base to tour the area. The hotel is very comfortable, most rooms are en suite, and most have good views of the village of Reeth, and countryside. The latest modification to the hotel is a bar but in our opinion this reduces quiet lounge space. The food is very good, and the latest chef has introduced smaller portions, which we prefer. One thing that hasn't changed ever since we started visiting is the quality and friendliness of the local staff. Prices in general are fair, in our opinion.

I was lucky enough to stay at the Burgoyne Hotel in Reeth from the 20th to the 22nd October 2021. What can I say? The hotel is a lovely, quirky old building, crammed with history. Part of it's charm is that your bathroom might be across the corridor. The decor is comfortably sumptuous. The staff are friendly and professional. The food is delicious, unpretentious, well cooked and from locally sourced ingredients. Dogs are welcome. All the staff are "dog people". One of our Westies is very anxious and she was treated with love and compassion. It was my SO's birthday and Chef Andrew baked a scrumptious black forest gateau for the occasion and tantalisingly timed it's presentation perfectly. By the time we left, I felt like i had made some new friends. Thank you to Manager Julie, Chef Andrew and front of house Seth, Lauren and Codie for making us feel so at home. I hope it isn't too long before we return.

Arriving in the pretty village of Reeth is like a glimpse back in time. Beautiful old houses, shops and pubs surround the large village green.

Taking pride of position is The Burgoyne. As soon as we walked into the hotel we were warmly greeted by Courtney who showed us around and to our room on the top floor. The views over the village and hills are stunning. The room itself was so comfortable and clean with everything you could need.

We chose the Dinner, Bed and Breakfast option for two nights and so glad we did. We enjoyed a pre-dinner drink in the lounge served by Cody. A beautiful comfy room with squidgy sofas and great décor. Chatted to a lovely couple who had already eaten, they were staying elsewhere in Reeth but had wished they were staying at The Burgoyne as a similar price but, they felt, far superior accommodation and food.

Dinner was cooked by Chef Tom who totally wowed me with his vegan offerings for both nights. Celeriac velout̩ and Cauliflower steaks in particular were absolutely delicious. Husband had fish both nights and again thoroughly enjoyed his meals. The dining room is a relaxed affair so no need to dress to the nines Рunless you want to.

At breakfast we were looked after by Ann Marie, again exceptional service and great to have a chat. There is plenty of choice and the full English (vegan & veggie) were very tasty. Also some of the nicest coffee I’ve had in a long time.

This hotel is really exceptional, comfortable and stylish with great customer service. It’s clearly popular with walkers, there are some circular walks but it’s also on the Coast to Coast walk. Simon the manager and Georgia assistant manager were both very professional but friendly and helpful. Apparently the hotel is due a refurb shortly which I hope won’t change the wonderful atmosphere and service.

We are already looking at a pre Xmas visit.
