Amazing place , loved it here ,very quirky with the antiques shop set in a fantastic building with lovely surroundings. We stopped for breakfast, and the food and the service were both great .Would definitely return.

A gem of a place. Lovely staff, friendly, chatty, service with a huge smile. We stopped on a warm & sunny day so were able to sit outside overlooking the ruins of the abbey. Had a triple chocolate brownie and coffees. So comfortable, could easily have dozed off. Afterwards we looked around the inside of the house, where there are many antiques and knick knacks, (bought an old box brownie camera). If the weather isn't so good, the insides look warm and inviting. There is a good and varied menu, with hot meals available. Thoroughly recommend. It's out of the way and feels like a little secret place only you and a handful of others know about.

A fantastic location with amazing views of the Dales. We stopped for lunch and a cake and were nit disappointed!! The toastie sandwich was delicious and the carrot cake was also fantastic.

Well worth a visit and a relax in the garden looking out at the views!

I chanced upon this delightful place almost by accident, having abandoned hopes of being served at another establishment nearby. The location is superb, the welcome cheerful, service great and with humour, the coffee and cake perfect, enjoyed with a super view. A joy to experience.
As I remarked when there, it deserves a bigger sign on the road!

Newly discovered cafe only open Thurs, Fri and Sat. Good food and cake made on premises. Dog friendly and generally happy atmosphere. Lots of room to sit outside and glory in fabulous scenery. An antique shop also in one side of house with loads of curios. Good place to stop on way to the remoter dales villages.

Went to see the house used in the all creatures tv series which is very nice. Scenery around the house is spectacular. Mrs Pumphreys tea room is excellent, good location within the house and great quality with good prices. Well worth a visit.

The best tea room in the Dales. Superb fare, delightful staff and views to take one’s breath away. And an antique shop to browse! It’s a real treat to visit there.

What a beautiful and fabulous setting. The staff were so friendly and helpful and also very accommodating regarding gluten free options. We felt very relaxed and as the cafe filled, the atmosphere was lovely. My friend had her dog with her and he was offered water and a treat! Will definitely return in the future.

Visited a couple of weeks ago while in the Dales. We shared a Ploughman's platter for two which was great value and very filling. The staff were extremely welcoming and friendly. The Antics part is well worth a visit with all sorts of interesting items, that range from £4 to £400. The exterior was a terrace, where you can enjoy your chosen food and beverage, that looks out onto the Abbey ruins. Really loved it here.

Called in for tea and cake with friends on a Saturday afternoon. I had a lovely toasted tea cake with lashings of butter and jam. One friend had the cheese scone and said it was great and my other friend had a cheese toastie, which was huge with loads of salad, coleslaw etc, more of a meal than a snack, again delicious.
Quirky, delightful old fashioned tea room with your drinks in a variety of delicate china cups and teapots. Lot of people having afternoon tea with fab looking tiered plates of sandwiches and cake. Must try that next time!
Finish your visit off with a mooch round the little antique shop as it's really interesting and definitely go outside onto the terrace for stunning views of the countryside and the old ruined tower.
The setting really is beautiful, the old hall is impressive, the food good and the staff friendly and chatty. Perfect for an afternoon tea somewhere a bit different to the normal.
