Great pub, especially good for a Sunday roast. We came without a reservation and we’re lucky to grab one of the few remaining seats! Massive servings, as it should be, wholesome and delicious.

Cracking roast on a Sunday & good selection of beers on tap. Friendly service. Rooftop view is glorious too.

An original gem of Hackney! This is a must pub for everybody. Beautiful deco and gorgeous terrace plus extraordinary stuff fast and friendly. Supportive of the area and the artist featuring awesome street art in the façade. Great selection of beers and tasty burgers and fries plus really yummy vegan option such as the chicken burger

Pub was really busy after a West Ham game,, but service was great and we had a fantastic lunch upstairs. Def worth booking a table. Roasts were excellent. Big portions, top quality including the veg and vegan options.

Excellent restoration of a classic east London pub. Restored from a burnt out shell into a lovely craft pub.

Impressed with the craft beer options from New England IPA's to an Imperial Stout at 12% and good prices too compared to other bars in the local area.

Sat on the ground level first, near the bar and was pleased to overhear local brewers enjoying a drink too which says alot.

For my next drink I asked if the rooftop was open and luckily it was. Nice views of the area from views of the Olympic Park to the urban Hackney area to an excellent view of the railway and Station (my favourite haha)

The atmosphere was very relaxed and welcoming and the barman I talked to was knowledgeable and friendly.

If you're not into craft they also have a wide range of other drinks such as lagers, wines and cocktails for example.

There is also a quiet room and a restaurant or events room on the first floor and another smaller cocktail style bar on the rooftop.

Only visited for a quick couple out of curiosity on a small craft beer route and was quite impressed. Will revisit for sure.

Closest transport -

London Overground from Hackney Wick (1 min walk)

London Buses from near the pub

Or you can take a Walk through the Olympic Park & Westfield to get to Stratford station aswell.

I've visited a few times, mostly to watch the Love Island final (in a small separate room). Margaritas are £5 on Mondays so this is a real plus as they're also delicious and boozy.

I visited with my husband and border terrier at the weekend, mostly because I think it's genuinely great Thai food (western style) here. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal and accompanied by a good variety of beers.

Dog friendly. However, when the rugby started it was very loud and so I felt like we needed to leave to protect my dog's ears. So maybe just avoid major games?

We've also ordered a delivery roast from here (about 20 minutes away). It was delicious and wonderfully packaged so everything arrived perfectly. We were very impressed as I fully expected it not to travel well given distance.

Lovely proper pub in Hackney Wick.

Visited purely because they were one of the lucky few to have Verdant's Putty 2023 on tap. Glad I did because it was a great experience.

Pub is set out nicely and staff are amazing. Really friendly and genuinely focused on service. Food looked great but I didn't sample it myself.

Feel like craft brew visitors to Hackney Wick are likely to hit the likes of Howling Hops (also amazing) and Crate, but don't leave the Napier out.

It was a lovely experience we had. The bartender told us that they currently are not allowed to use the coffee machine as the staff have not had a training for it yet, however he went extra mile and got us filter coffee. We went there for sunday roast and few pints. It was a large portion of place and delicious pigs in blanket. They accept cash and card payments. There is a beautiful rooftop terrace as well. Such a lovely place. Definitely recommend.

We were down for the game today and came across this pub, as we were away fans the Mrs went in and asked if it was ok for us to go in, me the wife my little lad (in full Burnley kit lol) my daughter my other son who is in a electric wheelchair & another lad we take also in a electric wheelchair, the lady opened the fire doors and welcomed us in, very good wheelchair access, and made sure we were all ok, one of the locals gave up his table for us so we could all sit together, all the West Ham fan's were brilliant with us & the boys,
The drinks were spot on, went for the Camden hells larger then we ordered some of the chicken tenders (these were excellent)

We had a fantastic few hours here, great pub, great staff, great beer, great food & great set of hammers fans

Keep up the good work

Outstanding food personally love the Sunday roast but the Thai menu on other days is also something to try. Extensive menu full of flavour.

Got to love the Lord Napier before a West Ham United game. Great atmosphere actually made up of locals and football fans mixing. Great food that can be ordered to the table via QR code and of course large choice of drinks served by friendly staff.

My favourite pub in Hackney Wick by far. Really good selection of beers. Loads of seating areas, including a covered rooftop. Ace decor and art-work. Excellent wine selection and very good bloody marys too, which work well on those more challenging Sundays. They also serve some delicious pop-up Thai food options on the menu at a very reasonable price. The bar staff are always very friendly, which is not always the case in East London. We usually have a bit of banter with the young scouser who works behind the bar. I'm from the north of England myself, so I appreciate a bit of friendly chat with the bar staff when I'm feeling a bit worse for wear.

Finally, they have an ace music policy (Black Star, A Tribe Called Quest etc) and a nice non-rowdy crowd.

I used to work the bar in the Lord Napier when it was still a derelict squat party back in 2005, so it's insane to see it in its current format. Definitely a much needed glow-up.

Highly recommended.

Lovely first experience at The Lord Napier Star! Have been planning on visiting for a long time and today was the day! After a long walk around Hackney Wick, I stopped by for a refreshing Aperol Spritz on the rooftop. Quick & spotless service, great drinks and a great view of the area! ✨🌆. I'll definitely visit again with friends and thoroughly recommend - it's a really lovely spot!

Booked a big table here for my birthday and had a great time! We're local, but have only ever come for a drink before. Great selection of beers. This time we tried the Krapow food and it was really good - I love that they offer more than your basic "pub grub". Really tasty Thai dishes - our group were raving about the drunken noodles and the Thai fries!
