Located just outside Glasbury the Black Mountain Lodge is somewhat tucked away and very easy to miss as you drive by. However it's well worth keeping a sharp look out for, it's very clean and tidy, the staff are great, as the food is good. Of course there's plenty of safe off road parking right outside too.. Recommend.

This place is beautiful, the staff are so friendly and accommodating.
We were staying the night to do a charity motorcycle ride for air ambulance and we mentioned we are early risers getting up.
The lady who runs it said if you want to have an early breakfast so you are all set for the bike ride just come down when you are ready.
The food was amazing, my wife had cockles for dinner the night before and I've never seen a bowl stacked so high, I had peppered venison and veg it was beautiful.
Breakfast was more of the same delicious food, I had full breakfast and the sausage was wonderful.
Staff were so friendly and helpful, can't wait to go again as we found out the do bike nights once a month.
Look out on their FB page.
Thank you for making our stay and our charity ride amazing.

Really enjoyed our stay! We were here in the off season, and it felt like we had the place to ourselves. Well, aside from all the sheep. Woke up looking out the window to see sheep and lamb trodding around in the field behind the lodge. Get some takeaway and eat on the picnic tables overlooking the pond. Rooms were well-decorated and cozy! The (included) breakfast consisted of juices, fruit, cereal, and your choice of main meal from the menu. Very friendly staff. We’d come back in a heartbeat!

Took my Mum for Sunday lunch here as pressie for her birthday. Sat outside on newly furbished patio in glorious setting. The lunch itself was excellent with plenty of food for all. Service fantastic and great value for money. Plenty of room for kids to run around in grounds. Definitely will return 😁

Not stayed at the hotel but recently had a Sunday roast. My first visit. What a beautiful place, setting. Very light and airy, lovely decor and beautiful scenery.
The roast dinner was absolutely fantastic, everything looked and tasted home cooked.
Piping hot, so much taste; I had the lamb others had either chicken or pork and the gravy made the meal, delicious.
Everybody thoroughly enjoyed their meals.
Staff were very attentive, smart and pleasant.
The whole experience was a very positive one.
I shall definitely return to the Black Mountain Lodge.
Staff and management take a bow.

The owner of this business went out of their way to help 2 ladies in distress, having driven down from Cheshire on our way to a funeral, we tried most hotels n motels which no vacancies. We chanced upon Black Mountain Lodge and being so late at night, they went out of their way for us, by getting a lovely room ready for us to occupy. We had an excellent room with a wonderful breakfast. Beds were very comfortable and clean. A big heartfelt thank you to all the staff.

We had one of the most relaxing stays here. Very friendly team and a really lovely room. We ate in the restaurant each evening, the menu had plenty of choice and everything we had was cooked beautifully.

Loved it here, will definitely be coming back! Cosy, clean rooms with character and situated in an ideal spot. You need a car really but its only a few minutes drive away from Hay. Staff are really helpful and kind and the breakfast box is amazing! Such a thoughtful, well put together brekkie. Definitely recommend and will be back!

The room was absolutely gorgeous. Couldnt of ask for a better room - only issue, the bed was very unstable and made a loud squeaking noise even with the slightest movement. This was quite annoying when trying to sleep. The service at the Black mountain lodge was outstanding, staff were very friendly and welcoming. The location of the hotel was spot on, a quiet, peaceful and beautiful surroundings.

Great place. Friendly owners, lovely location, comfortable beds with pristine linen. Rooms tasteful decorated with modern and old-world charm. Easy reach to the village by car (2 mins) or less than 10 mins to Hay on Wye. Where you can hire canoes or just sit and chill by the river.
You can walk to the local pub, with great food and beer, but the road is on a sharp bend or 30 min walk over the fields along a public walk way.
