The Red Lion, Burnsall

Burnsall has been a favourite of ours since the kids were little. We still go often to this day. The red lion is a fabulous Inn and the rooms are extremely clean and spacious. The staff are very friendly and the food is excellent. We are staying again at the end of April and can't wait.

What a lovely pub in an absolutely gorgeous location! We ordered the vegetarian and beef pies - both were absolutely delicious!
The staff are warm and friendly and the pub itself is massive, but has a cosy and charming vibe. Would highly recommend if you're in Burnsall!

Had Sunday dinner here last week. I can honestly say it was one of the best meals I've had in a long time. Whoever the chef is you need to hang on to them, everything was delicious, well cooked and hot. Well done 👏👏👏

A beautiful inn in one of the best locations in the Dales. It really doesn't get much better than this place. Great rooms, amazing food and drink. A good selection of local ales and good wines. Staff always welcoming and it's very dog friendly. The view from the bridge outside the door is stunning and the walk up the river through the gorge, across the suspension bridge over the river Wharfe to Linton Falls and Grassington (the filming location for All Creatures Great and Small) must be one of the most beautiful in Yorkshire. 6.5 miles there and back.

I stayed one night and because I enjoyed it so much I stayed another. The staff was wonderful! Very friendly, fun and they did a great job. It was very clean and beautifully decorated for Christmas and was a wonderful experience. Great attention to detail and service was superb. Thank you very much! Highly recommend it.

My family of 9 did not actually stay at the Red Lion but we certainly will in the future. having rented a House across the road from The Red Lion we arrived and discovered the cooking facilities were not working! there was no means to cook Christmas dinner or any of the food we had brought. We contacted the owners and were told nothing could be done before Christmas. This was devastating as we had two small children with us. We went to the red Lion to ask if they could help? The pub was very busy but the owners were amazing and although they could not fit us in on Christmas day they said that they could provide us with turkey and stuffing for all of us and my sons managed to buy a couple of air fryers from a store in Bradford, so we could cook the vegetables etc. The Couple who own the pub saved our Christmas and we were very grateful. Over our stay we spent a lot of time in the Red Lion eating and drinking. the food was excellent and all the staff were lovely. We fully intend to visit again but we will book the Red Lion next time.

A group of us visited the Red Lion last week on the way back from Bolton Abbey, they managed to squeeze us in despite hosting a larger party the same afternoon.
Such a traditional pub full of character, the staff were very warm and friendly.
The food was, wholesome and good value and we'll definitely return...

Great pub in the village of Burnsall. Friendly staff and busy bar area due to it being Christmas/New Year week. Food good quality and tasty. Good beers. Will be returning. Thank you

Simply idyllic.
Recently invested in a superb room transformation, and this really shows.

The location is excellent for walking and it is such a relaxing atmosphere.

Great food , great beer, and great service.
We sta6ed in the manor house and ate in the restaurant.

Definitely return.

A lovely, warm and inviting b&b situated in the picturesque dales. It was perfect for a walking holiday and if your not against a slightly longer drive is an excellent location to explore the rest of Yorkshire. I would highly recommend the red lion to anyone looking for a quiet rural getaway. The staff are friendly and helpful and all of the meals we had there were excellent.

I cannot rate this place highly enough, the staff could not do enough for us and everything throughout our stay was amazing. Lovely room, great facilities, excellent customer service and extremely pet friendly. Our two terriers were treated like royalty. I'm already planning a trip back. Thanks again x

Just popped in for a bite to eat on a wet and windy day. Great food and great coffee. Dog friendly, our Alfie went and introduced himself to the other customers. What's not to like.

We enjoyed our stay. The cottage was comfortable, with bedrooms downstairs and the open plan lounge/ kitchen upstairs so you could appreciate the lovely views over the river.

Great place to stay. Lovely room, really good food. Friendly and helpful staff. I hope to visit again.

If you want cheap then go find a Toby inn! Our Meal at the Red Lion was fabulous, tasty & very nicely presented, add to this a cosy snug with real fire (stove) and attentive efficient and friendly staff & we had a wonderful meal & relaxed time.

We booked a cottage here for an over night stay on a motorcycle trip.
Absolutely fantastic accomodation, clean, beds were very comfortable! Stunning views.
The pub and restaurant were excellent, cosy snug area, attentive staff and food was bloody delicious!

Will return here, no doubt!

We only called in for a few drinks after a walk, so I cannot review the hotel or food side of the red lion.

There is plenty of parking at the back of the building.

It was a wet day, and our dogs were wet so we chose to sit outdoors. There is plenty of seating much of the area is under cover.

The bar area is small but with a wide selection of drinks to choose from .

There was a wedding reception in the function room, and the restaurant was very busy, the bar area was pretty full too but I got served quickly.

The toilets are a little small..
This is an old building and original features are still in place.
