Brilliant GP, lovely staff. First Doctor I’ve been a member of with no hiccups at all to date and swift processing. Not sure where all the bad reviews are coming from

We are fairly new to the surgery, but have had really positive experiences on the 5 occasions we have needed to access support (for my children and for myself). The online consult is great and we've been seen quickly when necessary. All the staff we've seen have been polite, friendly and knowledgeable. Thank you for all your help!

I was able to get a routine f2f appointment with my named GP (Dr Rathor) within a few days via the patient access app. Also offering the extended hours service is an absolute godsend! Simply AMAZING!

I have always received an excellent service at the Wellington practice Aldershot. From all the reception staff, the nurses and my doctor whose care and professionalism has helped me so much. Thank you all .

Takes so long to actually get a gp face to face appointment its a joke now how many people have to suffer and have medication removed or not allowed hrt because of the shortage of doctors you wonder why people turn to drink drungs or even worse take their own life.... i was told an over the phone would be fine but again the same doctor replies who cleary has no idea what my health is like as she hasnt met me where as other doctors i that practice have.

The NHS is the best publicly funded medical organisation in the world. The staff at the Wellington Practice typify these world standards as a small cog in a large wheel - thank you.

There used to be problems getting appointments. But the doctors and nurses are very good with plenty of knowledge.

The nurses and staff are great but the doctors are not. I went to them with neck pain caused by a strained muscle and they said "are you sure it's not your anxiety?"

Another instance is I needed an accessibility letter and they had me hand write my needs and then didn't bother to consult me. I paid £20 for the letter and when I received it they didn't even write the correct information!!! They wrote something that's actually medically impossible!!

The nurses were lovely though. Very kind and helpful.

Plan to change GPs soon.

The doctors and nurses are excellent and kind, but some people in reception are rude and annoying. They use their positions for retaliation because I told them my surnames are two instead of one. After they did not care about my clarification in terms of my surnames, they told me to wait, and 10 seconds later, one of the reception staff told me I had arrived late 20 minutes, and they won´t be able to attend me and I have to re-schedule the appointment. The excuse for their retaliation was that I arrived late this time. It does not make sense for me to wait for them but they cannot wait for me 20 minutes one time (I was working and I had to asked for an authorization to leave my job). This is clearly a retaliation. Why do you put people without any customer attention skills in the reception?

This is not the first time the reception staff is rude and without a clear orientation to the customers.

This practice is terrible. My girlfriend keeps getting bad UTIs and she’s had quite a few in the last year.. so recently when she called the practice to say she has bad stomach cramps and blood in her urine, she got told it was gonna be a face to face appointment to test for if she has got another UTI, and she got a message from the doctor she was meant to see saying to complete a form online first and that she did not need to see her face to face. Work was then interrupted for her because of the arranged appointment which was then cancelled. She then got a message back saying that antibiotics have been sent to her local pharmacy… but without being tested first, could’ve been anything besides a UTI because not to mention all the questions on that form for finding out if she had symptoms of a UTI she only pressed yes to one question, that of which was saying “have you got stomach cramps” so how is that to say she’s got a UTI?? It’s shocking to prescribe something without being tested. So my girlfriend then went into the practice and demanded to be checked first… so she got an appointment right away thanks to the lovely receptionist, so then she was positive for the UTI and was put on the SAME antibiotics she’s been taking before for these UTIs, there was no reassurance when she asked the doctor “what’s going to happen moving forward because I can’t keep getting these UTIs”. Realistically she should be referred to a urologist to make sure the bladder and everything is ok! Besides all this she was rushed to A&E the next few days to be put on strong antibiotics, and thanks to the nurses there, they said if this happens again.. to go back there and they’ll examine the bug that is causing this. So now we know for next time if she gets it we will go straight to A&E instead of the doctors because they will actually examine it not just give you treatment and no advice moving forward. And to top it all off doctor jenney is very rude and gives you unfactual advice, but that’s another long story.

Terrible doctors surgery, receptionist staff are lovely, but the doctors clearly have no clue. I have been having major pain since February and still have not had anything from them apart from ‘are you sure you’re eating properly’ or ‘are you sure it’s not stress or anxiety related’. They always seem to go to everything else like I am exaggerating.

After finally getting a scan 2 months ago - I still haven’t heard from them for a follow up or the results!! I have been missing out on work a lot due to this.

They have prescribed around 5/6 different medicines/painkillers but only 2 that are actually relevant to my pain and would work. The other two were completely unrelated to my issue.

Trying to get an appointment is a whole other story, they either don’t call you on the day mentioned or it is impossible for you to go see a doctor face to face.

I am absolutely appalled by their service and leaving me in agony for the past 7 months.

Dr Rathor is especially dismissive and loves to talk over people.

Happy to say I will be switching GP’s

Do not use them…

I went to see them about intermittent insomnia and with a worry that I was traveling soon and was worried I wouldn’t sleep. Doctor basically told me I needed to learn how to sleep and gave me an antihistamine to help me sleep? I did explain that I’ve had on off sleep issues since I was 15 so have been dealing with it for over 18 years and that everything I have tried doesn’t work. No screen, meditation, reading, breath work. My brain just won’t switch off when it doesn’t want to. I fully understand not starting on a full time course of sleeping pills and I think I said I was open to that so any advice to not do that would be accurate I’m sure but I did make it really clear that this is not a simple learning to calm down and switching off exercise for me it’s something I have deeply and truly battled with for an extremely long time and I was looking for some kind of safety net when I’m going to be out in an unfamiliar environment with no other life lines where being able to sleep is really important.

So I was given something and I took what I was given. Dosage was one. I took one. Nothing. I took 2 the next day. Nothing. I even tried 3. Nothing. No idea if I was just given a placebo or something? It said it was for travel sickness on the packet. I ended up in Asia with severe jet lag and stayed awake for 4 days in a straight row. First time in my life I actually felt legitimately suicidal. I had to actually find a pharmacy out there and get something that actually worked.

I emailed the practice after 3 days of being awake. Still no reply 2 weeks later. I know this isn’t the standard method of contact but in the past I have emailed and had a response. Honestly it’s unfair for me to blame them for missing an email but my faith was totally shot after that experience so I ended up feeling pressured into going private.

I ended up having to spend over £125 for a private doctor consultation when I returned who within 5 minutes of talking to me wrote me a proper prescription and said “this is what I would have given you on the NHS. I’m not sure why you were given an antihistamine”. So I now have something finally. I don’t know if the doctors don’t think what they do actually impacts us or if they don’t care but honestly that decision made by the doctor I saw that day put me in one of the worst situations in my entire life where I had to go out into rural Cambodia and trust a random pharmacy to not give me counterfeit medication just so I could sleep. totally completely let down and I don’t really know what else to say.

I had my baby three weeks ago and I had him through c section. I was in so much pain the 3rd night I was discharged from hospital. I called the surgery to talk to my DR. I called the reception and told the receptionist what am going through. I was crying and was in so much pain. She said she will get the prescriber to call me. She called after an hour and I explained my situation. Her exact words were oh sorry I can’t give you any pain killers other than the one you have that ie paracetamol 500ml and ibuprofen 200ml. I explained that I was in serious pain and plea to her to please help me. She cared less and put down the phone. She said sorry there is nothing I can do. I was so sad and disappointed. I called 111 and the lady was so helpful. She booked me in to go to the emergency and to maternity triage. They gave me an oral morph and I felt much better. This is the second time I am going into situation like this with Wellington practice. Today I went to their neighbours Cambridge and I left with my two kids.

If you are really concerned about your health, please avoid this surgery.
* dismissive GP (especially Dr Rathor), I asked for a blood test during 3 different appointments, but the only answer I've received was "but you got one a year ago". I feel like in GP's mind I'm too young to have any heath issues.
* takes hours to get through their phone system to speak to receptionist (she deserves 5 stars for being amazing though), and even then the system can randomly cancel your call,
* appointments are not scheduled with any hourly time frame so you must be available to answer your phone all day (impossible if you work). And even if they do tell you the appointment will be in the afternoon be prepared to have a random call around 9am.

I was updated with my NHS number and attended a walk in vaccination (COVID) centre. My details were taken outside and i was handed a slip of paper to hand to the nurse. The nurse highlighted that walk in was for over 50's however the doctor said that it wouldn't matter as i had made the journey and that vaccinations had been terribly slow. I was then approached by the Practice Manager who questioned my integrity and promptly told me that i wouldn't be getting the vaccine! Phillip - I hope i don't catch COVID whilst i wait for the vaccine and hope you show a little more professionalism and common sense in the future....
