Southampton Central Library

Excellent place where to use computer. It is also an excellent place where to study because there are many books. When living in Southampton, I enjoyed using computer at this library. When it is not busy, it is possible to use a computer for 4 hours. The library staff are very kind, friendly and helpful. They also provide an outstanding service. The library is also well designed and well lit.

Great library, good knowledge staff. Easy to navigate

My partner and I joined the library today and were made to feel very welcome. Whole process was very easy and Charles ( the lovely staff member) was very helpful.

The library is the best place to go to if you are a student you can study in a quiet area and also you can use online computers and get books out what you want

Outstanding architecture of Southampton Civic Center adds special value to very good library based on ground floor with wheelchair access. The building complex also contains the; Guildhall Performing Arts Venue, Council Offices and Town Hall, Art Gallery, Archives Library, Marine Museum (dedicated to RMS Titanic)

Tonnes of room to study and read. Nice atmosphere and the building itself is beautiful. Staff were polite and helpful

Today was the first time I've used the library and it won't be the last!
The staff was very friendly and helped me with my registration and a couple of other things I needed to do, including printing and scanning.
I was happy to find interesting books that I want to read, information about language exchange groups, computers available for work or study... and the atmosphere is very calm.

Warm and quiet enough to focus on your activity.

I use the library regularly throughout the week. The staff are all very friendly and helpful, particularly Abdul, who’s always willing to go the extra mile. A kind-hearted and good man, he’s willing to help or talk to you about anything. Make sure to say hello.

I’m was delighted to visit after months of lockdown and the service was 5 stars! Dan was amazing helping to find my next reads and ordering in suitable books from neighbouring libraries - his knowledge of authors and books on different subjects was refreshing and made the whole process effortless.

Books are knowledge aren't they? If we lose the library we who borrow their books will miss it a lot.Ive used the library for so many reasons,from a three day computer course to remember things id forgotten to using the yellow pages and the reference section.Today i borrowed a guide book and a novel to take with me on my up and coming holiday.Both will be read cover to cover.Thank you people who work here,volunteers and paid staff.You are wanted and needed by people like me.

Marvellous! The library is well presented and offers an extensive amount of books.
The staff is very helpful and opening times are generous with the opportunity to rent up to 20 books, makes things even better.

It’s one of best place for doing study, it’s very quiet place ever seen in history. I found the books really very helpful and I am proud that we have this library In Southampton.
