Big on quality, Lidl on price. For university students, Lidl is perfect, has everything you need for extremely cheap prices. Best value for groceries in the local area.

I love this store. The only supermarket I can find ready rolled pastry and short rust pastry and ever reasonable price Made my life a lot easier.

Only popped in for a few items but the store seemed well stocked, clean and well laid out. There are several self-service tills. The only down-side that I can see is, being in the city centre, there is no free parking so you have to use paid parking; luckily there's lots around the area including a multistorey right behind

Nice and easy experience. Got everything I needed and was quickly out.
They are not so keen to trick you bying more as other supermarkets by rearranging the location of the products on a regular basis, saving me time. I really appreciate that.

Officially the cheapest Super Grocer 33 cheapest basket in September 2023. Vegetable and fruit prices plus other essential goods are reasonably priced.

Good selection at an affordable price

A big supermarket where one can find everything. This is my usual go to place before I cook any special dish as I will be sure that I can find those spices/pasta/paste here. Huge collection of veggies and meat. Goods are cheaper here than the nearby smaller supermarkets. Checkout usually is not that bad since there are multiple self checkout counters and it moves fast. They have a wide section of frozen foods too. Also has a DIY section and some useful home accessories can be found here as you typically do in bigger supermarkets.

So many things that my local lidl doesn't have!

Located in the heart of Southampton City center. Has all the essentials you need. You may not find everything that exist in big Lidl but it has all the daily needs. No paking is available

Nice clean air conditioned store, friendly regular staff. From July 2021 new aisle layout, plenty of items on the shelves despite national HGV shortage. (The new vegan range of food is surprisingly tasty and helpful for coping with a new diabetic diet)
Most customers still wearing masks as there is a noticeable elderly clientele, (I wear a mask when it’s busy or queueing for the cash/conveyor belt till, to provide reassurance) .
The self checkouts are card only.
Expect the place to be really busy when the local student population returns in September Get your beans and toilet roll now 🤣

Situated just seaward of the Bargate, a largish selection for the site. Consistent stock location of good quality products at reasonable prices. Staff usually hands off but approachable, professional and helpful.
Self service tills usually supervised by staff member who is quick, knowledgeable and observant.
