Lovely traditional pub, serving great food with a good selection of beers and ciders. Had the tandoori chicken skewer which was very tasty. Positioned on the canal side its a great place for both eating and just chilling with a pint.

Stopped off here for Sunday lunch. A lovely location overlooking the river! The beef dinner was delicious and an excellent sized portion. One of the nicest Sunday dinners I have had.

Casta spotted another 2023 CAMRA Good Beer Guide pub. Both of us making our first ever visit to this canal side pub. Hard to believe you are only a very short walk from the very congested ring road and A6. A little oasis of calm. Lots of outside seating for pleasant days. ( so don't get too drunk and fall in if sat on the wet end of the tables.) Inside is a large long but narrow pub. The bar has several real ales. Casta took York Brewery Guzzler. A session 3.6% Pale Ale. One of my favourite beers.

We stumbled across this delightful pub on a rainy day in Lancaster and decided to pop in for a quick drink and a bite to eat , when our food arrived we were pleasantly surprised with the quality of food and amount received! Very tasty and good quality made this a great find ! Will definitely visit again . Amazing location right by the side of the canal

Visited the waterwitch to celebrate my birthday with my wife and kids.
.
It's a lovely little pub situated right next to the canal and a short walk from Lancaster city centre's main shopping high streets.
.
The staff were so welcoming and friendly and made us feel so welcome on arrival. We didn't book in advance as Monday lunch times are generally quieter than other days and we had no trouble getting a table for 4 inside. Because of the good weather, outside tables were much more in demand so it may be wise to consider this if being outside is a priority for you.
.
There was a really good range of mains to choose from and the scampi was perfect. The bar also served a good range of beers on tap including craft ales, and European favourites.
.
The pub also has its own ice cream bar, which was incredibly good value. Lemon meringue and Cadbury cream egg ice creams were particularly good.
.
In summary, a lovely pub and a great experience.

Thanks to Sunday trading hours meaning Aldi was shut I saw some lights across the canal and 'discovered' the Water Witch. What a fantastic place! A wide range of beers and ciders and all the top shelf bottles you'd expect. There are also guest beers and I tried some Duct Tape Tuxedo.. A lovely hoppy beer.
There's a great menu for lunch and for dinner which I'll explore another time. There's also a children's menu.
It's dog friendly but keep your best friend on a leash. Seating is nice indoors and outdoors on the tow path.
The staff are super welcoming and helpful and willing to tell you about drinks options and the range of non alcoholic drinks available.
This is one of those places that makes Lancaster such a great place to visit or live. Highly recommended.

It's a long, quite narrow pub by the side of Lancaster canal, the narrowest section being in front of the bar. All was really good except it was far too hot! Maybe it was just me. It's a brilliant summer pub as there are masses of canal-side picnic benches. No parking is available on site - the nearest car park is a 5 minute walk. Highly recommended!

The location was magnificent.
Excellent food, with a great variety of Ale, which we enjoyed it by sitting by the canal. The staff, courteous and friendly. Perfect place to sit out on a sunny day. The Brown Ale, perfectly complemented the traditional British Fish and Chips.
In the few days we were in Lancaster, we visited it twice!
We were completely satisfied both times!

The Waterwitch is a canal side gastro pub close to the heart of Lancaster. It has a warm, friendly and inviting atmosphere that draws you in and encourages you to feel both welcome and relaxed. The menu is diverse with something to appeal to every palate and it is very competitively priced. All of the staff were friendly, courteous, attentive and helpful and the Pub is well run and maintained to a high standard of cleanliness and efficiency. All in all my party and I enjoyed a lovely evening with fantastic food in a warm and ambient atmosphere. Loved it +++++++ and we will definitely visit again. Thankyou to everyone 😊❤🥳

The food was very tasty. I enjoyed the gluten free Cajun chicken burger. They have great options for gluten free diet and even dairy free.

Excellent pub by the canal in Lancaster. Lots of character. We booked table for 4. We ended up being 6. No problem. Good selection of local craft beers and the seafood platter to share was a pleasant surprise, both quality and price. I'll go back again anytime I'm in the area.

Cosy place by the canal, a great choice for a rainy Sunday early dinner. We had the roasted pork loin (£14.99) and the fish pie (£13.99). For dessert, warm brownie with vanilla ice cream. All of it was delicious! Portions are generous and the prize is very reasonable. The staff was also very kind. 10/10, will definitely come back!

Quirky pub - very busy, lively but quiet. Perfect for a chin wag. The pub offers a bunch of interesting alcoholic offerings, many of them local, at really great prices. Tried the sticky toffee pudding as well - really good! Will definitely be back next time I’m in Lancaster!

Always love it here. The chef even did us scampi and chips even though it was Saturday and not on the menu.
Staff lovely. Beer 🍺 very good.
Will be back

The multi award-winning Water Witch is situated on the picturesque Lancaster canal, a five minute stroll away from the hustle and bustle of the historic city centre.
The Water Witch was originally converted from purpose built stables in 1978, and offers a large range of high quality dishes ranging from Great British classics to build your own deli boards, hand stretched stone baked pizzas and continental cuisine. We had nice experience today here, staff is always friendly and polite. Beautiful location.
