Derby Medical Centre

I recently registered with the practice and so far it happens to be the best practice I visited. I understand that they try to give you same day appointments if possible. I also find that they don’t make you wait for your appointment too long once you are in the practice. Emilia, the nurse, is very lovely.

I have always received excellent care at Derby Medical Centre. The doctors have been very thorough for my cancer journey and the nurse even noticed that my young daughter should not have the live flu vaccine whilst I was on chemotherapy, so very vigilant. There can be a wait for a non-urgent appointment or blood test, but I suspect that is true of many surgeries right now and not their fault. Thank you to the wonderful medical and reception team.

I think this is a great surgery. I really appreciate the fact that even when you fill out the online form instead of calling, your form gets vetted in such detail that if your concern regards a child the surgery will always find a consultation slot. This was not the case in my previous GP. Considering how overwhelmed GP practices are these days, the service I have been receiving from this particular surgery is absolutely brilliant. Massive thank you to the doctors, nurses and receptionist who are always friendly, competent and helpful.

Incredible to read all of these bad reviews, I understand that when people are unwell it is a stressful time, but I personally feel that Derby Medical Centre is very good.

Receptionists are always helpful and my doctor (Dr Deveson) is brilliant and very understanding with just the right amount of empathy and wit in equal measure.

IMO, the staff here are doing a great job considering the underfunded nature of the matter.

I've just had an appointment with Dr Raheela and I am over the moon happy with how nice and caring she is. The previous surgeries dismissed my concerns or prescribed short term medication, so I gave up on asking for an assessment and tried to deal with the symptoms of something for a few months until they got worse. So today I called in with what has become an urgent issue and Dr Raheela has consulted me on the phone, scheduled a face-to-face appointment the same day, assessed me and sent one of my tests off to the lab to make sure she can provide the correct diagnosis. She's also booked me in for an urgent blood test that normally takes weeks. For the first time in a while I felt that the GP I saw really cared about my issue and wanted to make sure my treatment is right.

We saw a doctor (woman) yesterday for my dad. She was amazing. She even tried to entertain my son as he was very active while she was checking on my dad. So far I have never seen this behaviour from a doctor.The receptionist was very kind and patient. Thank you

Today my little girl had an appointment with dr Peter Deveson and I just explain how good and nice he is … he is very respectful Dr, he came outside of his room to call us in then we walked to his room , made us very welcome to ensure my 12 months girl feels comfortable and engaged with him. Overall he is knowledgeable and take cares of his patients very well. I wish all Drs are like him. Derby medical centre very lucky to have him :)

I’ve been registered with other GPs in the area but this one is the best. I’ve finally found a doctor who actually listens to me and friendly receptionists who answer the phones! It’s possible to get appointments and they’ve been helpful and kind in general.

Mum of 2 young children: Been with this surgery for around 6 years, all doctors have been fantastic, receptionist always been helpful and I’ve never had a problem getting an appointment. Always felt they were spot on with diagnosis!

Saw Dr. Wormley today for the first time, hands down the best doctor I have seen since my old doctor Mckee has retired. Extremely caring and very reassuring! Felt like my day brightened up immediately once I left the practice! Very grateful to be in such safe hands!

With all the negative press around doctors surgery's, I must say that my experience with staff and doctors at Derby Medical Centre has always been efficient and helpful. 10/10 from me👍

I joined the Derby Medical center in 2001, and have been very happy with the service that I get from the centre. Generally I find the reception staff helpful, once or twice over the.years I have experienced moody staff, but at the end of the day if you get out of the wrong side of the Bex it can really mess your day up. Also we.don't know what abuse they have had to up with by patients.
Out of the Dr's I have seen there,they have all been professional and have a good bedside manner. I generally get to see my GP which is good. I am a heavy user of the NHS due to services due to my many health problems, which began a a kid, not that they stopped me from doing sport etc. I remember saying to my GP, you must hate seeing my name show on screen so many times. Her reply put me at ease, " I would prefer to see patients like you, as you have got syndromes and progressive health problems that are not going to go sway, and need medical input for the rest of your life.. I would rather see you than a patient who turns up with a sore nose, to find out it's a pimple". I recommend the Derby Medical center wholeheartedly.

All the 1 star reviews on clearly have no idea on the strain the NHS has at the moment.
This doctors surgery go well over and beyond to help everyone.

Thank you for providing an excellent online service during lockdown. I have had to speak to a doctor several times post surgery and the support has been brilliant. Dr Tooke has been amazing. The ladies at the reception have been so kind and accomadating pre and post surgery as well. Thank you so much.

The staff were lovely. I was in the evening clinic and the doctor was from another surgery. He was amazing. He listened to me, was funny, didn't make me feel anxious at all.

Staff are all responding really quickly to online enquiries - we have needed several appointments throughout the year with both children having medical conditions - all staff have supported our needs and ensured we have had the help we needed remotely - the online service is brilliant

Amazing GP practice the fact that you can book in advance or on the day and if no appointments they do a sit and wait, totally impressed my last GP who I was with for 38 years never offered any off these services and all the GP’s I’ve seen have been amazing. Thank you

While not my own surgery I do attend with a friend and they take good care of him.

All the doctors and staff are fantastic here. Kind and caring. I have been at this surgery for over 30 years and can highly recommend
