we always visit this place and it never disappoints. So many interesting things to see, don't be put off by the negative reviews. I've bought quite a few really nice items from here.

If you like home made crafts this place is amazing. Lots of lovely little gifts made by different crafts people and sold in the cooperative market. The lady serving was extremely helpful and knowledgeable about the things on sale. If you're looking for a unique gift this place is definitely worth a look as they have lots of different things at various price ranges.

Lovely for a browse, lots of nice things by local artists. Just to note that they are cash only but do have a sign by the till. The lady behind the till was very knowledgeable about the products and told the story behind the artist of a bag I bought

This gem is worth finding. Such a variety of medium used by local artists under one roof.

Excellent crafts, as a crafter for more than 35 years I find it refreshing to see other artists' work for sale.

Can only rate a 2 due to the unnecessary rudeness shown to my wife, all she wanted to do was pay for an artist's work with a debit card! I fully understand artist collectives having been involved in running one for quite some time but this is the 21st century and accepting card payments is an easy goal to achieve. At least two sales lost today as my wife and I were trying to buy each other gifts for our anniversary. Such a pity as we love to support local artists wherever we go.

I visited yesterday with my parents and our 2 children (youngest 3m in a pram). My father struggles with steps, walking generally, so was pushing the pram for balance.

After looking at the top section he walked out and back in via the lower door to the bottom section - where there’s more art and the till area. This avoided navigating the 4/5 steps between the two rooms.

As he stepped foot into the shop he was snapped at by the very rude lady volunteering there, for breaking the one way system rule - presumably since the days of covid as it wasn’t there last time we visited.

My Dad tried to explain he couldn’t navigate the steps, but the lady carried on barking and said something about people usually carrying prams down the steps quite fine. He quickly left!

With the rest of us still in the shop, I tried to reason with her but she was having none of it. Her justification was the bus loads of people they get in the shop - but at that time there were around 5 others!! What annoyed me most is when she said something to thread effect of ‘I’m 72 and I manage the steps fine’. Good for her!

We were going to be buying a couple of things - but she ruined it for us, plus my Dad had the cash (no cards in 2022?!).

I hoped this was a one-off bad day but maybe not looking at the other reviews.

What a shame for the artists who lost out this time, and quite a few others by the sounds of it from the other reviews.

Visited this nice little place on Sunday. It was great until my father-in-law politely asked if he could pay with card. He then received a lecture from the rude woman on the till, on how they haven't accepted cards for 25 years. We had never been there before! So how were we to know unless we ask! Totally uncalled for and ruined the nice day we were all having. I would not recommend visiting this place unless you like being spoken down to when spending your hard earned money.

Came in today with a parm and family we looked around the top floor first and noticed steps, I walked out with the pram and came back through the exit to meet family at bottom level, I was shouted at by a woman on till that it wasn't acceptable and family should help carry I explained that my family can't due to bad backs, her reply was well shout me.
No I'm sorry the steps were steep and I don't trust you with my newborn baby.
How incredibly rude you are and reading the reviews it seems like she is rude to other customers.
I hope people avoid as the level of rudeness experienced had left me incredibly angry how dare anyone talk to me like that in front of my family

Some nice things, I picked up two very cute ceramic mushrooms as stocking fillers for my daughter. My husband went to pay and as he handed them to the lady at the till she barked, "Cash only!" He said, "I dont have any cash with me," and again she shouted, "cash only! Always has been," like we should have known. As Llangollen is quite a tourist destination I'm guessing a lot of people could be forgiven for not knowing. "Oh well, never mind, I'll have to leave them then," he said, and the lady replied, "There are six cash machines in town. Six!" We walked away and she shouted after us, "I'll put these back on the shelf then, shall I?" My husband offered to put them back and she said, "No, no. I'll put them back thank you." Rarely have I encountered such incredibly rude 'customer service'. I'd have happily gone to get cash out if the woman hadn't been so incredibly aggressive. I guess from other comments that this happens a lot and the lady is stressed, but really, somebody needs to do something about her if they don't want to keep losing business. Also, put some 'cash only' signs up at the entrance. It's not rocket science.

They did have some nice stuff, including some lovely colourful berets at only £9. 'Everything handmade locally!' the woman on the till kept repeating. Then she added, 'My daughter ships these berets in from Paris' (which somewhat contradicted what she had just said about everything being local...!) however, they were lovely and, according to the saleswoman, 100% wool, and reduced from £15. So I bought one and was very pleased - until I saw there was a label inside: Primark! The cheek of her. I looked them up online and they are £4 in store. I'm not massively bothered about paying £9 but I feel sorry for anyone who paid £15. I'd have taken it back on principle, but we were only passing through Llangollen. Also, looking at the other reviews, I fear she might have shouted at me....

Such rude customer service. My mum who uses a wheelchair wanted to go into the shop, the lady on the counter would not let us go through the exit which was the only part of the shop which was wheelchair friendly as the entrance had a big step outside. We was basically told to go away and not to come in

The crafts here were fantastic and my two friends and I were going to purchase a few things spending quite a bit of money. The woman on the till was so rude to us we decided not to spend any money in there which is a shame for the local artists . She shouted to us to put are masks on, which we were doing. We went in on 17.10 in the afternoon.

Sadly the same as 90% of the reviews, the shouty woman "No cards!" How the hell do you run a business in 2022 cash only? Even my local burger van takes cards!

Similar to other people reviewing, I got grief off the woman about debit cards before I'd even finished getting my wallet out of my pocket. Won't be going in there again
