Churnet Valley Railway (Kingsley and Froghall Station)

Amazing experience for families. The whole staff crew were brilliant. Very well organised and thought out. Thank you for such a memorable experience for our 4yr old - one he'll never forget!

Extremely well organised Polar Express event. A thoroughly enjoyable experience for the whole family. A must visit festive venue. Will now keep our eye out for other events at Churnet Valley Railway throughout the year.

Had the Sunday lunch in the first class coach (had to book), it was amazing, highly recommend. The train looked good, but the volunteers and staff were awesome. We will be back.

We booked for the breakfast on the Churnet Valley Railway. We arrived and parked in the carpark which was right outside the Froghall station entrance. We were shown to our pre booked seats in the Nicolas carriage and our prosecco was waiting for us on the table. The waitress took our order for drinks straight away and we quickly received those.Our pre booked breakfast was served to us in a timely manner and was both hot and delicious. Really enjoyed the whole experience and would highly recommend. Some beautiful scenery to watch and was also a short informational talk was given before we returned to Froghall station.

Great experience, very entertaining throughout, the chefs are great characters. Santa talks to everyone and makes sure he has enough time with each family. The whole polar express trip was magical

Amazing experience for adults and children. Beautifully done. The staff amazing, the staff on the vending ie food could do with a little work as they got flustered very easily and wasn't out to please any customers. May be having a bad day.
The experience its self was wonderful and we will be back. The only suggestion I have is you state that booking v.i.p you revieve a bell cup and bag, and yes we got the bell and the cup but the bag was between 4 people that should be stated upon booking, or there should be 4 bags. We will be back as the experience its self was amazing 👏

24.2.2024 What a fantastic time we've had today. Breakfast on the train and riding the train all day! The staff have been absolutely brilliant and we felt really spoilt as we celebrated our disabled son's birthday. Service and food was excellent. Such a friendly team of people.

Fabulous scenery on the route and we were lucky with the weather.

Thank you to everyone involved who made the day so special, from start to finish - reception, tea room, station and train staff, every one of you are brilliant. We'll be back!

Went on the dinner train today, had the lovely USA steam train pulling the carriages . The food was great and the staff friendly and helpful. We spent a nice few hours on the train and enjoyed the view's.

We took a trip on the Bombay Express. It was amazing.
The food was amazing, we were seated in the first class carriage and the seats were really comfy. Prices for the drinks were really decent as well. Not overly priced at all.
The food was delicious, and plenty of food.
We went on a lovely train ride which was around 2 hours 30minutes.
It was brilliant. Will definitely be doing it again.

Full marks go the Churnet Valley Railway for organising a great experience for adults and children alike. The publicity machine you have is excellent. From ticket purchase through to arriving by car at the well signposted car park was first class. Organising coach by coach embarkation, was slick,and whilst waiting on the platform for the train was magical and full of suspense. Acting on the train was well produced with authenticity and enthusiasm. Santa at the North Pole with scenery on platform was unique and well portrayed. Would highly recommend but book your tickets early.

Did the steam train with Sunday lunch experience and it was amazing! Food is tasty and huge portions; happy to cater to weird tastes too! Staff are so welcoming, friendly and make it fun! Seeing inside the engine room was so fun!! Excellent for all ages (I am 37 and found it magical) and solo person or families!

The Polar Express special is a magical experience for children, parents and their grandparents.. such a special day out. Thank you to all the staff involved. You are all amazing and made us believe

My wife & I visited this place today for a 3 course Saturday lunch on board a 1945 steam train 🚂. What a fantastic experience from start to finish 👏 We couldn't have picked a better day (weather wise 🌞) The whole experience is like going back in time to the 1950s all the staff which may I add are volunteers wore period clothes that match the era, they all looked great & were extremely polite & helpful. From showing us to our table & serving us from start to finish with impeccable manners they all should be extremely proud of themselves. The 3 course meal was superbly served & was beautifully cooked 😋 👌 Thank you. The whole experience lasted approximately 2 & half hours. We loved everything about this experience, the place, the steam train journey & the beautiful food & wine 🍷 We will definitely be back & would highly recommend 👌 👍 👍👍👍👍

What a great experience we have. This was a gift trip to my wife and she was over the moon. The whole staff, from the door reception to the dancers, they were very good and kind. Highly recommend this.

A fantastically well organised Christmas 🎄 experience on the Polar Express . Singing canteen workers who bring you a hot chocolate and a cookie. A conductor who stamps your ticket and Santa and his helpers who were amazing with everyone giving out a Christmas bell... if you BELIEVE... and stopped to take lots of pictures and interact with everyone especially the kids ..and let's be honest we're all big kids but the looks on our childrens and grandchildrens faces... priceless 👍😁

Came today with my mum and 2 children for The Polar Express. It certainly didn't disappoint! Was fun and laughter from start to finish. My eldest cried when we left as she didn't want to come home! Everyone is so friendly and chatty. Definitely go in pjs! Although it might be better to wear shoes than slippers incase of rain and puddles!

We went on the Polar Express, staff are energetic and interact with you the whole time. Santa was great and the kids loved it

Absolutely brilliant polar express experience loved every minute of it and felt very festive.
The staff made it magical by singing and dancing on the train and it was just like the film with the hot chocolate song and a cookie.
We received the sleigh bell and had the premium mug and bag which will be a keepsake for sure!
Lovely day out staff all brilliant and our sons thought it was magic
The icing on the cake was meeting Santa and having a picture with him! Loved it!
The train was heated so it was brill for the cold days, toilets on board and a lot of toilets and food stalls before you got on the train!

I was on the Polar Express experience. WOW it was amazing. The whole event was extremely well organised. No pushing and shoving to get your seat. The entertainment was out of this world. The gift was lovely, not cheap rubbish but a gift I can treasure for years. It was an event not just for children but one even us oldies could enjoy. We had a good sing along, heard the story of the Polar Express and for a brief spell I was a kid again. I would highly recommend a visit
