Steve Newing

We engaged Steve to upgrade our scruffy, cramped bathroom to a modern and more spacious feeling shower room. From the start, nothing was too much trouble, here are just a couple of examples: The tiles we chose were on special offer initially, but due to delays (we had other work going on) the offer finished and the new price was rather expensive, but Steve spoke with the retailer and secured us a very good price, to be held until we were ready. Also, due to the low ceiling in the bathroom we were keen to have the shower tray as low profile as possible, which we'd been advised by another company would still mean having a riser for the tray, but Steve didn't flinch and said he'd see what he could do... Well he did exactly what we'd hoped and we had room for a nice waterfall shower! We're very happy with our new shower room (pictures show it undecorated and no flooring).
Steve was professional, diligent and punctual and we'd certainly recommend him. He's also a very nice chap!

Steve converted an old downstairs bathroom into a fully tiled wet room, with a new shower, toilet, washhand basin and radiator in spring 2021. He was most helpful with the design and in obtaining the required new bathroom fittings. He was flexible in his visits, working around our requirements when we had other work going on at the same time. He was always professional in his approach and the standard of workmanship was excellent. His price was also very reasonable and I would have no hesitation in recommending him. Get a large teapot though - he does like a "cuppa".

We have now had Steve to refit 2 bathrooms in pretty unconventional spaces which required problem solving and research, mixing made to measure fittings and sometimes adapting them to fit in our awkward rooms. Also ordering and fitting tricky tailor made items. He doesn't stop until you and he are satisfied with the outcome. A pleasure to have working in the house, trustworthy, polite and friendly, very aware of your needs too. Can't rate him highly enough. We are now hoping he is free to come back and fit another bathroom for us!

Steve recently replaced our outdated ensuite, the area was tiled from top to bottom and the attention to detail making it look brilliant, the shower tray being low level could have proved diffucult but Steve found the best way to achieve the best way to make sure the waste water flowed away efficiently and always asked where shower contols would be best for us, not just fit them that would be easiest, in short Steve always put's the customer first and was always on time and left every thing tidy and clean before he left each night, I can only thank Steve for his work and he would be number one person to go too for any future work and would recommend him to anyone, and to add icing to the cake he's a lovely bloke as well.

Steve came to do a shower screen for us when ours came off the wall just a few weeks away from the arrival of our baby. Steve was very responsive, quick and considerate of our needs and fit a shower screen for us in such a short period of time, even looking at making sure it was easy to use for when we bath the baby. It is such a quality screen and put in beautifully. Steve also was very considerate to make sure the room stayed clean and dust free which is much appreciated when you are 39 weeks pregnant. Highly recommend and would have Steve back in a heartbeat for any bathroom jobs.

Steve completed the full refurbishment of our bathroom for us. From start of strip out to completion of the finishing touches, his attention to detail, help and advice and frequent updates showed he was really adding value and demonstrated his experience. For such an important and often costly project to have this advice from Steve was invaluable to me.
The quality of finish was excellent and I’ve no hesitation in recommending him. In fact, friends of mine have subsequently had their bathroom refurbished by Steve to equally outstanding results!

Steve did a full refit of my main bathroom after I tried two design firms who either proved too expensive or didn't listen to my needs. Steve offered excellent practical and design advice and was prompt and efficient with the work. His ability to do both the tiling and woodwork was a big plus. I have now booked him for a second job.

Steve completed a number of tasks for my manufacturing business, updating and replacing plumbing fixtures and fittings, corroded pipes, tiles and replaced sink units within the facility. I needed someone who I could trust to work unsupervised as the factory was only partially open due to the pandemic lockdown. Steve reviewed, discussed, and made suggestions to improve the original plans, then went ahead and completed all the works in a timely and efficient manner. The results are great, and I would not hesitate to contact Steve if there are new tasks and projects to be completed.

Have used Steve twice for complete bathroom installation and have been very happy both times. He takes the time to fully understand your requirements, and is very consultative throughout - ensuring you get *exactly* what you're after. I was particularly impressed with the care he took with the tiling, getting a really good match with the grain in the tiles.

Steve is a friendly and reliable plumber with an honest, transparent and considered approach. His work is careful and conscientious, and – if you have one of those niggling problems that proves a challenge – he is both practical and good-naturedly persistent. Because Steve cares about keeping your costs down whilst providing a really neat finished job, he’s good value for money too. Five stars!
