A MUST while visiting Saint Emillion !

Everything we had was delicious! Great quality (Even the accompanying bread was one of the nicest I've had at a restaurant)! As someone who lives in France, this restaurant is highly recommended! Although it was a busy evening, the service was great. We felt welcomed and appreciated. Staff were very friendly & accommodating (went above & beyond).

We had 2 mains & 1 dessert;
• Tartar = an excellent dish

• Pigs feet = simple, but surprisingly good (as if you had a French grand-mère cooking for you)

• Chocolate fondant = to die for (must have)

Merci pour la très bonne experience!

We had a fantastic meal made all the more special by the excellent owner! We haven't booked but managed to find a lovely little corner. The black pudding is the best I have ever tasted and I should know as I am Scottish, totally yummy, rich and unctuous. We also ate snails which were delicious and a cheese board to finish. Wine throughout, enjoyed lots of different glasses of red wine which our host brought over every time we asked for more🍷😁 💜. A great experience. Highly recommend. I'm still talking about my black pudding. Happy days.

This is a fantastic place. We stopped in for lunch and the experience was fantastic. Is a great place and VERY friendly to families and American tourists as we are. The specials were fantastic. The owner brought over juice for the kids without charge with our kids (15,11 boys) loved. He recommended a much better wine choice in our price point which was fantastic as well. The owner speaks English well and there is an English menu too without the tourist scam. The ambience is amazing too! Quite a unique experience. After spending 4 days in Paris, this was our best meal of our trip so far. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Lovely restaurant in a wine cellar. The food I had was excellent, especially the plat du jour, which was a slow-cooked guinea fowl stuffed with truffles. The owner was very friendly and recommended a good wine to go with my meal. The place is small and popular, so a reservation is a must.

Had one of my best dishes of all time at this restaurant

Can't remember the name of the dish, but it was pork with foie Gras.
Every bite was a journey.

The rest of the meal was also incredible, perfectly paired with beautiful wine from Saint emilion.

Fantastic meal with a wonderful owner. We spent a good hour after close talking about our respective homes among many topics. Cannot recommend enough the experience of dining in the cave, with amazing food, capped by such a fun and generous proprietor. We will definitely be back.

Chef is well accomplished and his menu represents this. Classic French dishes executed with finesse. Great value as well, good portions, fair pricing. Recommended by and well attended by locals, which says everything.

Great food, great wine, but most importantly, a great memory was created. My wife and I ended up hanging out with the owner and some other customers way after closing, letting the wine bridge the gap between our language and cultural borders.

If you’re in town, it’s a must—a great alternative to going to tastings at the many chateaus that dot the area. Sylvain is a brilliant host and will have you try wines that pushes the envelope beyond Bordeaux.

We stopped in for lunch and were greeted by Sam, who also served us. A small restaurant which is down a set of stairs into a cave in the hillside, it was a delight on a hot & sunny afternoon. After Sam went over the menu we started with the duck fois gras & escargot to be followed by the duck magret & roast veal chop. Rather than try to pick from their very extensive wine list we ask Sam to pair a wine for each of the main courses. For dessert we had a chocolate cake with vanilla ice cream & a strawberry crumble. Our meal, frm start to finish, was superb. The wines were perfect and Sam's service could not have been better. 5-stars for all.

From the moment we arrived we were made so welcome, asked if we wanted to speak French or English and chose French Sylvain made our evening with his knowledge of wines, and the most delicious food. Dining in the cellar is a treat and we will return. Too good to miss.

Visited Lard et Bouchon by chance in November and it was such an excellent surprise and experience, we had to go back again last week during another trip with family and friends. The welcome was excellent, the food and wine better and I can't recommend it highly enough. A great find in a beautiful location.

Really good wine restaurant with delicious food and cosy atmosphere. I was there with my family. And all of us loved the place, cusisne and staff. The waiter was always going around the restaurant, so we could ask him anything at any time.
