Excellent museum. Amazing to discover how the Mulberry Harbour was designed, built and how they operated. The stories of the soldiers involved in DDAY were also great.

We visited here while on a D Day beaches tour from our cruise ship that spent the day moored in Cherbourg.
The D-Day Museum offers an immersive and sobering look at the Allied invasion of Normandy.
I enjoyed the exhibits, detailed models, and archival footage that depict the planning and execution of Operation Overlord.
A must-visit for WWII history buffs, this museum pays fitting tribute to the bravery displayed on D-Day's bloody beaches.

We visited the Beach and Promenade to get a full appreciation of the Mulberry Harbour construction undertaken by the British.

This museum is a must see! Absolutely outstanding explanation of the mulberry Harbour and landings. The building itself inside architecturaly is incredibly modern and cool. The glass, concrete walls and polished concrete floor give it a Military/bunker feel which really adds to the experience. Really wasn't expecting such a unique and detailed approach at this museum. Takes 2 hours to do it all properly, highly recommended

Very interesting.
The last entry is 45 minutes before the museum closes. 45 minutes to visit the museum is very tight.

Go. Even if you are not in full understanding of the WWI/WWII era you must give you and your family the gift of learning. The exhibits are THE best. Real artifacts. Real stories. The overall experience was emotional and well worth our family time. Purchase your tickets ahead of time online and get everything you can. The flight simulator is dramatic and provide as much spectator realness as possible. Excellent job!

Really worth a visit to this little museum that has the power to make the visitor understand what was the effort in terms of lives, means, industrial capacity and forecast preparation.
The little stories of soldiers, partisans and common citizens, the spectacular 3d animation at the end of the visit.
Well done! Don't miss it!
The parking is on the hill South of Arromances, it takes a little walk to come to the museum.

New museum which is not quite finished but still worth a visit. The roof terrace and rear of the site not open during this visit.
Museum tells the story of Mulberry Harbour design, construction and use with good exhibits and audio visual.
No on-site parking but limited spaces within easy walking distance.

The museum is excellent and tells the story very well, while also being a detailed historical record of the events that unfolded at the time, especially at that specific location, which was right in the middle of the D-Day landings and subsequent liberation of the area.
Highly recommended, if you want to learn about that part of WW2.

Under construction when we went but i am glad we were able to see it and explore the museum before seeing the 360 view of the beach. Minatures are set up to show the scenario that took palce. There is a small gift shop on site to buy books and other knickknacks.

Great history lesson on how the British made a massive impact on winning the war along with our Allies.
It's because these men and Women thstbwe are not talking German or Russian now.

Proud of them all.

The 360 video experience was amazing... It was such a great embodiment of everything that went into and became of the battle of Normandy.

It was very foggy when we went, but in spite of that, the view over the water is just fantastic. The gift shop was also very nice and filled with lots of cool things

There is so much history here that it is definitely a must see. I had no idea about the entire artificial harbor that the allies created to help bring in supplies, soldiers, and vehicles. Seeing this place allowed me to better understand the incredible effort put in to save the free world. The models are all very elaborate and the 7 minute video brings the whole thing to life with options for multiple languages about every 15 minutes. Anyone who is a patriot would love a visit here.

When doing the memorial rounds this place Arromanche is the jewel in the crown. To think they took this place and then built a complete harbour in a month! They could load 750 truck's in a day, how amazing is that. There are still parts of the harbour wall visible and the entrance to the then harbour had two main pillars. One named Roosevelt the other named Churchill, unfortunately Roosevelt has gone but Churchill is still standing. These two mighty pillars had massive gun turrets on them which have also gone. But the site just leaves you to imagine how it must have been. The village is beautiful, lovely to walk round, go to the museum which is right on the front. 18 euros for two adults, not very big mind you but well worth it as they provide a guided tour which explains everything. They have films of the actual D Day landings you can watch and lots of exhibits. Great place to have coffee or lunch or just sit. We spent the whole day there as the place is just brilliant.

Very interesting museum telling the story of the dDay landings on the Normandy beaches in 1944.
Also the story of the Mulberry harbours that we're used.

Definitely worth a visit to understand and appreciate the events of the D Day landing on the 6th June 1944 in the place it actually took place.
