Northern Ostrobothnia Museum

This is an excellent museum offering brief and exciting introduction to the history of the region. A wonderful place to come with kids. They have a great play area with dress up. The free entrance makes it a perfect spot for families.

Certainly worth a visit if you are in the neighborhood

An excellent cultural museum centring on Oulu and its surrounding area from the stone age to the present. Has a great model of Oulu in the mid 1930s when the city had only about 20000 people. If you have time to visit here, also go to the Art Museum on the other side of the park. Well worth a visit.

Excellent Museum about northern finnish History. Nice, small, easy to reach and totally free of charge.

Totally worth to visit plus no entrance fee. Nice presentation view with clear information. Can see some English translation in important view. Miniature model of vintage oulu is epic. You can see the different changes in building and suprise land shape as well.

A wonderful collection of items and historical information. Many of which are explained in English which was helpful for me. 😊

A big exhibit of Finnish history of the region. From the stone age to the present. A view of the way of life of the region and hoe Oulu came to be. Truly an educational tour and a must visit for all history-loving tourist and locals alike.

Relative visiting from far away liked this more than the few museums we visited in Helsinki. It's perhaps underappreciated gem in Oulu culture.

It’s a museum

Museo on ihana, sisään astuessaan tulee vastaan vanhan talon tuoksu. Kaikki mitä on näytteillä on taidokkaasti esille asetettu, tunnelma on upea ja saa rauhassa perehtyä kaikkeen ihananaan. Henkilökunnalta voi kysellä ja kertovat ja tietävät historia avartaa näkemyksiä, kaikkea mitä vain keksii kysyä.
Se harmittaa että käynti tässä museossa oli viimeinen koska Oulun kaupunki on myynyt kyseisesen kiinteistön.
Suosittelen että kaikki jotka vain pääsevät niin kannattaa käydä katsomassa ja nyt museoon pääsee ilmaiseksi.
