Sensational, hearty Spanish fare in the heart of escorial. Would highly recommend the habit as con foie de oca (haricot beans with goose foie gras)

Love love live,good food, top class service, there was this elderly lady who was super nice, everyone was actually, she even gave us extra cocido when she noticed we enjoyed it

Why? Because the service, quality of food, location and wine menu. I have NEVER been disappointed in this restaurant and every time I come to El Escorial I make sure I make a reservation here. Even though they don’t know who I am, they treat me always like a celebrity. And then it’s the menu, the quality of the food and the outstanding professionalism of the chef and the entire kitchen team. YES to Charoles, yes I will come back and don’t forget to get their wine card with the yearly rate for rioja wines. A perfect chest sheet I keep using over the past 15 years.

Probably the best "Cocido" in the world. And if you have never try any this is the place to do it for the first time.You need reservation as "Cocido" it is served only on Monday, Wednesday and Friday.

The White Bacon from Verín is like Foie. The Carrot and the Cabbage are exceptional. The "chorizo", the "Cachelos", (gallegan potatoes), the beans from Fuentesauco ​​and the Hen are of a superior cathegory.
All the the rest components of this special "Cocido" taste more than good.
Sorbet Pear at Marc Champs in the housemade tulip is stunning, the dessert muscat is amazing and house wine Cune Rioja 2005 Special Selection maintains the high standard.

This is a charming restaurant with a wide selection of delightful Spanish dishes in the heart of the old town of Escorial. A bit on the expensive side but very much worth it!

Great tapas and delicious food. The house wine was delicious. The waiter provided very nice service.

Food and service were excellent. Location very close to major historical sites. Close to public transportation.

Very authentic place. It looks like it was built in Medieval times. The wines are delicious. Tapas are excellent. The cold beer from tap is good too. This is a nice place. You can have a good time here. Charoles has a look and atmosphere that is impossible to duplicate. I treasure the memories of my evenings at Charoles!

Michelin 2017 marked and it is up to it. Have tried the steak tartar - simple but excellent. Fois gras was also very good.
