Restaurante Lienzo

One of the most adventurous culinary evenings I’ve experienced, Chef Maria is clearly at the top of her game. Of all Michelin one-star restaurants I’ve had the pleasure of dining in, this is the most deserving (from a culinary perspective) of a second star.

The menu is inspired and creative. Compared to its peers, Lienzo features a better balance of produce on the tasting menu, which seems better designed and executed to alight all of one’s senses (including visual and aromatic, not just taste). There is a focus on bees and honey, as well as sustainability, in the design of many courses - for example, pea pod shells are used to create a sauce for one dish, while off-parts of a fish are used to create a sausage complement to the sea bass. Presentations are among the most visually pleasing you’ll find at any restaurant in the world.

The wine pairing was a delight, with the selections almost uniformly from Spain. Some pourings were truly special - among the best wines I’ve ever tasted.

Service was attentive, with all the dishes and pourings explained.

If I were to offer some suggestions to the restaurant - slow down the pacing of courses, especially in the middle of the meal. My guest and I were scarcely finished with one course when the next course (and glass of wine) were appearing. The entry area needs to be improved - it looks like a storage area and doesn’t provide the ‘wow factor’ one would typically find when entering a restaurant of this caliber. It would have been nice to have been given a printed copy of the night’s menu at the end of the meal, and we would have loved to have been provided with an opportunity to purchase some honey jars for takeaway at the end of the meal - perhaps by turning the entry area into a retail honey display decorated with an homage to honey, bees and their role in the food chain! And here’s an odd one - suggest raising the price of the tasting menu.

Great food experience in a small restaurant without windows, so you can really focus on the food and not the surroundings. We tried the 7-course lunch menu. The main dish have some room for improvement. Did not find the sweet potato gnocchi matched the slow-cooked lamb too much.

The food and service were exceptional. The sustainable idea and collaboration with local suppliers of meat, vegetables, honey, etc. make all this dishes very special.

Honestly this place blew my mind. I came with high expectations and I can only tell you that every single one of them was easily surpassed.
I loved the restaurant, so minimalistic, elegant and just beautiful. The waiters do such a terrific work walking you through the different courses, the ambiance is so nice.
The food? No words. The creativity and yet simplicity of each dish, their sustainability concept, the fresh local, delicious ingredients.. I loved every single thing I was served in my Lienzo menu, the recommended wine choices were also downright terrific. Conclusion: a MUST visit when in Valencia!

The menu was inventive and fun, and more importantly everything was delicious. The chef came out to serve us one course personally, which was a very nice touch. Staff were knowledgeable and friendly and the atmosphere in the restaurant was very welcoming. Will make this the first place we book next time we are visiting Valencia. Couldn't recommend Lienzo more highly.

Really enjoyed the three snacks at the start, and the staff are lovely. Overall is a very good experience.

My wife and I have just had one of the best restaurant experiences of our lives at Lienzo. Outstanding in every regard - a beautiful restaurant with incredible staff and above all else a truly exceptional Chef whose food was singing with passion and creative flare. We had the 14 courses all of which were delicious with my personal stand outs being the Pork with valencian bread, the beef with mushrooms and the squid in dashi sauce with squid ink tuille. The squid was one of the best plates I’ve ever tasted. Could not recommend more highly. Thanks so much

Recently reserved again at Restaurant Lienzo for dinner for 3 people and were treated to signature Lienzo service and standards that we’ve come to know and love.

Perfect. Time and time again.

Great place. The food was super solid and we totally loved the service. They agreed to switch our son's meal from surprise to "known"main after it proved a bit too much for mildly adventures 13 years old :lol: The only recommendation would be doing something different about the decor. It is a bit too "main stream". Other than that - very much recommended!

What a great experience at Lienzo last night ,locally sourced products ,relaxed atmosphere and professional service

We had a 10 course menu with wine pairing. Quality and price-performance-ratio is really good.
The staff is also really friendly and they know what they are talking about. We wanted to add one course, which was no problem.

We thoroughly enjoyed the gastronomic experience at Lienzo. The lamb was so exquisite, tender and flavourful. The oyster dish also stood out, especially the combination with the summery-so-refreshing cucumber. We will also not forget the shrimp with the spicy corn sauce. The squid dish with the black squid net on top was beautifully plated, and the taste was exquisite as the crunchiness of the black squid added texture to the squid dish.

The service team were very attentive and helpful. The Chef, Maria Jose, serves some of the dishes herself. A wonderful experience. Highly recommended, we will come back again

I had the most memorable birthday dinner at Lienzo! Our group was so impressed with the food, presentation, and especially the service. The staff went out of their way to ensure we had the best experience. We were also surprised by how affordable the bill was, we would have paid triple for a similar restaurant in the states. Overall I would highly recommend making a reservation.
