This gorgeous museum is like traveling to the future. Actually, I believe parts of Star Wars was filmed here too! It’s very kid friendly catering to all intrigued minds with plenty of restrooms, rest points, food options and handicap access. Elevators, open spaces for those with limited mobility. Go early and make a full day of it. There’s parking but easiest by bus or taxi. The bus will leave right in front of the entrance. We took a 3 and 8 year old who had a blast all day here! A MUST see in Valencia. They change the exhibits all the time too, so there’s always a reason to go back!!

Even though i did not enter any of the facilities where a ticket was required and only went there for sightseeing, I reccomend visiting this place for sure. The architechure is spectacular during daytime and even more spectacular at night. The vibe is also nice. There is also the park a level above the buidings which shines the most during the day. So you have to visit it twice, on daytime or when is dark. Or get there around sunset to get the best of both worlds.

The City of Arts and Sciences in Valencia is an absolute must-visit destination. This sprawling complex is more than just a cultural hub; it's a fusion of art, science, and nature, beautifully encapsulated in striking modern architecture. Each building within the complex is a masterpiece, drawing your attention with its innovative design and aesthetic appeal.

The site encompasses a museum, an aquarium, and a cultural center, each offering a unique experience. The museum is a treasure trove of knowledge, ideal for those keen on science and technology. Meanwhile, the aquarium is a journey through marine life, making it perfect for families and nature enthusiasts. The cultural center, with its variety of events and exhibitions, caters to a broad range of interests.

But it's not just about what's inside these buildings. The surrounding area, with its lush greenery and water features, creates a serene environment that's perfect for leisurely walks or sitting back to soak in the scenery. It's also a fantastic place for bike riding, with paths winding through the stunning modern landscape.

In conclusion, the City of Arts and Sciences is not just a highlight of Valencia but a symbol of modern creativity and innovation. It's a place where you can spend hours exploring, learning, and simply enjoying the beautiful surroundings. Whether you're visiting the museum, the aquarium, or just wandering around the complex, it's an experience that's both enriching and visually spectacular.

Great architecture and it is probably the best sight to visit in Valencia. It's free to walk around the outside too, where you can take photos. We were staying in the city centre and walked down Turia park to get there which itself is worth visiting. The previous route of the river is now a park.

We were there near Christmas and there was a Christmas market with mulled wine etc which was nice in the evening. We visited Oceanographic and the science museum. Both worth seeing but a lot to fit into one day.

These amazing futuristic buildings in Valencia are a must see. We visited on a cruise and the shuttle bus dropped up in the town centre where there are plenty of historic buildings to view. But I wanted to see the HEMISFERIC structure and other "star trek style futuristic buildings" and WOW WOW WOW. Thanks to Google maps and a cheap local bus ride to get us there.

What an incredible treat to live in a city where such a massive area is available to people to walk, jog, take children into a large, safe space, do yoga, read, etc…
Each section itself is pretty amazing, each with similar but also pretty unique architecture, and the place and all its bodies of water make for a pretty magical place to spend a few hours.

This place is a must-see in Valencia. Even if you don't want to enter the the opera or Europe's largest aquarium, you can easily spend a couple of hours in that huge area of Ciutat de les Arts I les Cièntes. The modern architecture is just amazing. Every building is inspired by Valencia's geographic location near the sea. Wander around and have a look from different angles. It's totally worth it.

I recommend to walk from the city center through the huge public park that used to be a river in the past. Take some food and beverages with you. It takes about 30-45 minutes of walk to reach the Ciutat de les Arts I les Cièntes.

I totally agree that this is said to be the watermark of Valencia.

Absolutely astonishing architecture!

It feels as if you were in a science-fiction film.

If I could, I would give it 20/10!

Santiago Calatrava known for his gleaming white, sky-high designs—has captivated the world with soaring structural feats since he began designing modern architecture as a student in Valencia, Spain.

His style has been described as neo-Futurist.

Shown:
Calatrava’s City of Arts and Sciences is a cultural complex in Valencia, Spain, with seven distinct structures: L’Umbracle, a promenade with native plants meant to serve as the entrance to the City; L’Hemesifèric, an eye-shaped cinema, planetarium, and laserium; El Museu de les Ciències Príncipe Felipe, a science museum whose structure mimics a whale skeleton; L’Oceanogràfic, an open-air aquarium; El Palau de les Arts Reina Sofia, an opera house with a distinctive featherlike arch; El Pont de l’Assut de l’Or, a suspension bridge; and L'Àgora, an arena for sporting events and concerts

If you’re into Architecture, photography, and wandering around in warm weather (yes, even in December!) then this is probably the place for you. The architecture is truly breathtaking and provides countless photo opportunities.

I strongly recommend buying a combination ticket for the Oceanographic aswell.

The family at AtlasAdventured highly recommends visiting here!
We visited the Museum of Sciences in Valencia, Spain in July of 2023. This is definitely a must see if you are visiting Valencia!
We purchased our tickets inside the museum the day before. You can purchase tickets the same day, but we wanted to ensure we had a spot for our 4 year old daughter to participate in the “Scientist for a Day” and the 3D Dinosaur show.
Our general admission tickets into the Science museum were 8 Euros, the Walking with Dinosaurs: Prehistoric Planet 3D show at L'Hemisferic was 4 euros (because we bundled the tickets), and the Scientist for a Day tickets were 3.50 euros (but you need to purchase a general admission ticket in order to participate in this event). Great customer service from the staff at the ticket desk. Super friendly and helpful, and gave us great recommendations on bundling the tickets and what would be best for our daughter.
Our family had the best day here. There is something for everyone, and the majority of exhibits are hands on! Next time we visit Valencia, we will gladly be coming back here! It’s affordable, fun for all ages, and a great break from the heat!

This is what I imagined the modern world to be like. Cool architectural buildings with a beautiful scenic park around it. I didn't go inside but just walking around the outside was cool.

Very beautiful place and amazing architecture. The exhibitions are very beautiful but not all of them are in English. It's a beautiful place to visit.

The architecture is incredible. Each of the structures has distinctive features but maintains the space age style of the site.
You can buy a range of entrance tickets depending on which attractions you wish to visit, the oceanographic being the most expensive.
Also, it's only possible to enter the Opera House as part of a guided tour at set times.
If you feel adventurous, you can hire a board or boat and shoot around the lake for a while.
Each place is fascinating and worth a visit. You can also go in and out of the Science Museum as many times as you please during the day.

Amazing place. It looks like it’s from the future and I love it. You need to spend a full day there to really enjoy. I spent most of the time in the museum of Science and I loved the concept. There was a section for history of music, for the earth and mars and also different experiments you could try about a lot of scientific subjects. It is very educational and fund for children and people of all ages. I had fun.

What a stunning example of modern architecture. As a photographer, seeing things like this in a city really helps to elevate the visit. It's kept pristine, and looks especially beautiful during golden hour.

A truly fantastic architecture. It is about 30 years old, but still very modern and eyecatching. I liked combination of futuristic buildings with parks.

This is an unusual place,
it is rather quiet, the walk is accompanied by the sound of water trickling lazily, enhancing the satisfying impression made by modern architecture and illumination.
