The grilled artichoke was so delicious and we had 2 servings of that!

The fried baby prawns too, it was so addictive and yummy.

We sat on the outdoor terrace and it was an excellent place to people watch while enjoying good food and good wine.

Whenever I see mixed reviews, it makes me very nervous. However, our experience at Gran Mercer was wonderful. It is perfectly placed in the center of town, and all our food was delicious. We had the fried fish, which was actually a variety of different fried fishes. Very crispy and very good! We also had the Russian potato salad, which was the best we’ve had in Spain so far, and that is really saying something. The olives were good and garlicky. The staff was very attentive.

Had a great time, delicious tapas and fine wine. Our waitress Marlene was very helpful and proactive. Could definitely recommend!

Great place with terrific food right around the corner of Plaça Ayuntamiento. If you choose to sit outside you will feel the buzz of the city life which is a great feeling here in València. Only downside is the surrounding smokers from the neighboring restaurant which allows smoking outside. We had two such people right next to us while enjoying our lunch. For this reason we chose to have our coffee and tea elsewhere. But this shouldn't hold you back. Try this great place during rush hour!

Sham was a great host and this place, right next to the market, serves authentic, beautiful food. The chef is clearly fantastic, we had Seafood Paella (not peeled). It was completely devine, best paella we’ve ever had.

Had some patatas bravas and padron peppers here that were very tasty. Also had a few agua de valència's that were strong but very enjoyable.

Amazing food! Been all over Spain and this is some of the best tapas we have had! Service as good as it can be when it is rammed busy! Pictures of patatas bravas, croquettes and bread with alioli, all 10/10 and will return.

We just arrived to Valencia and our hotel manager recommended Gran Mercat. It is right next to the marketplace and wow it did not disappoint!! Very lively square. We had the croquettes and torrezno de Soria--yum!! Our waitress, Raquez, suggested we try the traditional paella valenciana since it was our first time in valencia. It was truly scrumptious! She was right. We really enjoyed our meal and the great service!
